When the first mega trailers were coming out in 1991, Volvo didn’t have an F10/2 available, but adapted this FL10 for the job whilst retaining the standard chassis frame:
I believe that this F10 was the first proper Volvo mega tractor in the U.K. - when it first went into service, there were problems with the tyres fouling the trailer because the proper size still wasn’t available in production
