The work itself was pretty straightforward tbh, pallets of timber products to mainly building sites UK wide.
Most driving jobs are straight forward, so it’s not really an excuse for the advertised wage. <£7ph is a completely unacceptable wage for a HGV driver and any driver that works for that money is quite frankly a complete mug. It boils my ■■■■ that cowboy firms can get away with paying these sort of paltry not even mop & bucket wages.
I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the drop in HGV driving standards on our roads has coincided with the decrease in well paying driving jobs. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
Christ on a bike, I was getting paid that back in 1987 as a labourer on the railway.
Infact when I left school in 83 I got a job on the bins that wasn’t far off that either.
You’d just aswel work for maccy D’s, have no stress of driving and take the ■■■■ outa some fat chick all day.
