Just wondering if anyone used this and if it is any good? Obviously I wouldn’t rely on it and would still use my eyes, but any extra help is always good.
I thought this thread was going to be about another tool who hit a low bridge
If a big sign with the height on it is too much for some drivers to avoid hitting a bridge then I think rather than buying one of these they should maybe get a job doing something else. Besides, the first time they put a layer of tarmac on a road under a bridge somewhere its already not accurate and pointless

I agree totally. However having the POI’s on the satnav will assist in planning routes. I am not too proud to accept assistance from wherever I can get it especially as I am just starting out.
I am just wondering if anyone has used this and how accurate they have found it?
just off the A10 in Hackney i think it might have been Downs road the bridge was just over 13.6
i could just get under with a 4 wheeler van. i come along one day the idiots had put a speed hump
right under the bridge…now some one needed an Oscar for that move…it screwed my job up left
right and center.

Now that’s dropped in price a lot. I’m sure last time I looked at their site this was nearly £60!
That said it’s simply an overlay poi system that you can get free enough elsewhere. Maybe slightly enhanced to give the extra audible bits. For £15 tempting for use with a cheap car satnav rather than truck one
Its a bunch of poi’s and nothing more
Send your £15 to me and download them from rawandpeace.co.uk/willow-house-t … mPoIs.html for free
unzip them and copy the unziped files to your map folder on your tomtom
and be careful how you use them
only enable the height that matches your trailer otherwise you will get multiple warnings of the same bridge and it can crash your tomtom
■■■■ got a Garmin
Dont give up so easy, you can convert them to garmin files with this poieditor.com/poi_convert/ov2-to-garmin-csv/

The last time I downloaded these v.7.1 files was 2010 so they aren’t exactly new.
I`ve been using another set of POI files which allow 1" increments (ie: 13ft - 13ft 1") and come in the similar sets as the above (10ft, 11ft, 12ft etc) . As I remember I uploaded these files to my Dropbox and linked that to here ages ago.
However iirc IF you use these files on a tom tom you need to initially setup the proxcimety warnings for each POI hight increment, (which is a lot!) then disable the “warn when near” feature for each of them, then as noted in 205’s post you then enable only the “warn when near” feature" only the hight you need of the trailer/truck your in.

And me, I love pictures of lorries stuck under bridges.
The only low bridge tool (or fool) is the person who pays £60/£15 for such POI’s
I thought we all had one of these “low bridge tools” already?
I have audio files for most of the warnings so when your approaching a bridge, it will call out the height for you
im not sure how i can share them, maybe zip them an send with email if anybody wants them

It seem things have changed since i first got these files, they no longer contain all bridges under the marked height… ie the 16’0’’ file now only contains bridges marked 16’0’’ and the 14’0’’ file only contains bridges marked 14’0’’ meaning you can enable them all on your tomtom and not get multiple warnings
about each bridge
My ‘tool’ cost me about £1.99 and I call it a tape measure. I then use a truckers atlas for unfamiliar routes and plan accordingly. I also observe signs indicating ‘low bridge’ but not really concerned because I already know my height.
I also use a tomtom and love it as it gives me a good guide for arrival times/distance etc.
