Well not strictly true as I took one a mile or so down the road to get tipped last week, but I now have the certificate that says I can load and pull them from Southampton
Done my first one from there today

You have to do a safety test which you get a certificate for passing. You’re supposed to display it whilst on the docks but must admit I don’t and don’t see too many displayed either.
Does it count towards yourDCPC,there will soon be a module on entering and exiting cabs.

There is a part for entering and exiting the cab in the initial cpc. 3 points of contact and look about [emoji6]
Wow it must have gotten tricky turning 4 twist locks from the days when I did it! Do you get instruction before turning the radio on [emoji23]

Yeah it does. 7 hours classroom training how to sit on your arse. You can do the 35 hour CPC boxes course.
Next day migrates onto weightier topics; correct way to turn a handle without callousing the palms for example. Third day teaches nodding and agreeing that boxes can be top heavy but what the balls can you do about it apart from driver slower.
Fourth day emphasises ignoring day three completly and studies driving like its stolen anyway. Fith and final day concentrates on teaching how to â– â– â– in a carrier bag that cost you 5p because 8 hours waiting for Southampton dock to open after closing due a sparrow â– â– â– â– â– â– â– nearby, has left you nudging cloth.
That’s your full 35 hours and a stificate to boot!
