Lost all motivation with current job

Well due to COVID and Golden boys etc [emoji49]
I’ve lost every bit of motivation at my current job to the point I’m trying my hardest just not to just clear my truck out and to walk out on the spot [emoji20]
Am I being a drama queen or is it the reality of the job nowadays ?

Two things
In another post you say you’re all done by3 after a 7 start? Get a hobby!
Not all jobs ate the same. If it no longer suits look for another

Winter blues mate…

The thought of another long year of the same faces, same destinations and coupled with covid is enough to get anyone down. In the short term, look at what you have got not what you haven’t.

Sure, look around but move for the right reasons not a quick fix.

If you drive for a transport firm at the moment, look at own account operations as alternative. I’m near the end of my driving days and I’ve made two decisions about work 1, I won’t drive for logistics/haulage/transport firms and 2, I won’t swing on curtains any more.

Hang in there bluey.
Spring just around the corner.

If considering a move,Mr larf is barking up the right tree Imo

^^^^^ That. Time to go mate, you may just be swapping one form of misery for another but it sounds like you’ve had a gut full already. There’s absolutely no reason to stay in a job that makes you miserable unless you’re on footballers wages, which you won’t be, so jump my friend jump.

Unless you get an unbelievable job on offer with unbelievable terms, sit tight.
Better the devil you know/grass ain’t always greener.
They are mostly all the same in general mate, same ■■■■ different colour truck,.and it’s a pain in the ■■■■ for the first few weeks being the ‘new boy’ :bulb:
You sound as if you have a half decent number anyway tbh.

Do what I do, keep her head down, ignore all the management technique ■■■■■■■■, do your job at 100%,.so they can say nothing,.but .and make the absolute best of it you can for YOU, ■■■■ all the heroes trying to impress,
and just watch them qualifying for their first heart attack,.whilst you lead a stress free life.

I feel same.at times where I am.
Bit not a good.idea to leave with what’s going on in the world right now.
Way I see it at Mon am.full.time.getting a weekly wage.
If.i.left would I even get another job would .it be permanent? Where I am don’t do much don’t come into contact with many people.
If I left I could end do RDCs coming into contact with 100s of people a day risking catching covid.

Least where I am.is safe enough

I dont, and never have, and never will, get why what others are getting/doing rattles people so much.

At my place I swear there’s people who can tell me exactly what I was doing three months ago last Tuesday. Someone took a wrong load to a wrong place the other day (obviously couldn’t be bothered to look in the back doors) and my only interest was what happened to her in terms of getting a rollicking (she didn’t get one) but thats only so I can throw it back if I drop a clanger at some point.

As a gaffer at a former place there’d be drivers scrutinise the rota, moan to me about so and so getting such and such so then you offer them the overtime instead (as they’re on a rest day too) only for them so they can’t or they have plans or whatever. Why complain about something you’ve not got that you can’t do anyway :unamused:

I honestly don’t care what others are up to. I just involve myself with me doing my bit and parking up/going home at the end of it of it all. Why involve yourself with anything else?

Sometimes events both at work and in our personal lives conspire to get us down, and don’t discount the real impact this futile posturing of foolish politicians acting as if they can control nature is having on the well being of whole swathes of the country, everyone is being affected by what is going on to some extent even if only being thoroughly ■■■■■■ off with so many falling for all the ■■■■■■■■ hook line and sinker.

Job wise, i would advise against jumping until you have something else lined up, as yourhavingalarf said, if you are going to look for another job try and get out of hire and reward transport (if you are) and into an own account operation where you will be part of customer service rather than a transport contractor.
I have a policy at work, i take not a blind bit of notice of what anyone else is doing and concentrate on doing my job well…not for impressing any bosses but because i take a pride in my work for my sake no one elses, gives me job satisfaction and that’s crucial to your overall well being.

In my experience if you’ve hit this point you won’t get it back. This is the point where personally I leave, but that’s a decision only you can make

What is hacking me off is the Sheer waste of of time and under utilisation of my working hours and the truck which is only 2 1/2 years old and on tic , so should be working to pay for its self
The last 3 days I’ve done about 10 hours driving total

And before any else says [emoji6]I’m not gonna jump out of the frying pan in to the fire if the money isn’t right

P/s thanks for the virtual slap in the face that some have given me to make me see sense [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

If you have free time at work do an online course or watch films in your cab. I try to spend a minimum of time in the yard as the bull that gets spouted is off the scale.

We are hiring nights, days (?) and trampers at ours, though I would expect it would give you a renewed appreciation for your lot if you came over here…

I’m opposite to this. I do as much (within legal constraints of course) or as little as they want. As long as my money goes in every week and it’s an amount I’m happy with how they run the company or waste money really doesn’t bother me in slightest, I’m not paid to think about that

Yep minimise truck miles and then use the under employed drivers for alternative duties.Nothing new there. It’s all part of the plan.

But thsts not your concern, the only concern for you should be if you’re still getting paid.

That’s not to say I don’t find it frustrating waiting around or whatever, but its softened when I remember firstly I’m getting paid and secondly they pay people to make sure me and my truck are being utilised and if they fail in their part thats not my issue.

i Did it 2 yrs ago apx , I got back on a thurs , packed my car & went ( I did tell them when I was sent to Boston I wouldn’t stay ( they tried alsorts to get me to stay but my mind was made up ) , I was convinced I’d get the job at brakes I’d applied for but never heard a thing ( I’d turned them down loads of times so maybe they thought not again ) , I went on agency , but moving fridges then lorry tyres ( offerd full time jobs ) were just to much for me , so I decided after receiving so phone calls to go back on my old job , but agency not full time as didn’t think I’d stay , the day I said I’d go back I received a phone call saying come to see a agency I’d applied for a job at Tesco p/ bro , I’d not asked about that but xpo Easton , bloke rang me & said come down , but I’d already agreed to go back doing my old job ( why couldn’t they of rang a week earlier
I hate my job , but to be honest with all my health problems agency has been great for me , if I’ve a doctor , hospital , blood test etc I just put it on joined up and get the day off , I’ve just had a month off , full time I wasn’t allowed holidays from 1 st dec - 1 st week in jan ( unless last minute it suited them )
Knights of old were advertising recently , days , immediate start , 5 mins from my house , but would they put up with me needing a day / two off every week it seems , I doubt it , but you can bet if I ever do get sorted there won’t be any jobs
I can’t tell you what to do as every decision I make seems to bite me on the ■■■ , but all the best with whatever you decide

Update Guys ! Due to some developments that have happened at work today (can’t say any more at the moment) [emoji50]
I’ve decided to stay for now
I will say more when I’m allowed to [emoji6]
