Back around the 80’s / 90’s I can remember Truck mag running 3 competitions to win lorries, does anyone know what became of the winners?
The first was a Mercedes 1617 that went to someone in the Bedford area I think.
Then a Leyland Roadtrain went to someone who already operated his own lorries (Sargent’s. ?)
And a couple of early 7.5 tonner Ford Cargo’s.
Simon sargent is still in business & still has the roadtrain he won as far as i know , he was also in a recent truck on trial test of DAF xf vs Renault magnum in Trucking magazine

You are forgetting the Renault 16 ton? rigid, didnt that follow the Merc?
