Lorry Repeatedly Rammed Car!

This headline was worth a read, I thought but then met the usual guff. A 10 ton lorry (Picture shows 6 wheel unit and curtainsider) was involved in a ‘high speed incident’ 56mph, on the M1. Reading through the rest, it seems the lorry caught up with the Hyundai 4X4, complete with dash cam, at 2135 on a road with all lanes open, no apparent traffic and good visibility. The lorry driver caught up with the vehicle in the middle lane, who must have been doing about 50 to be caught up. Then it gets silly, the car doesn’t move over, the lorry driver loses the plot a bit, gives him headlights and horns to no avail. The lorry then goes into lane 3, still doing 56 I assume and passes the car. The lorry then cuts in too fast, and ‘repeatedly rammed’ the car. In my experience, if I repeatedly ram a car he certainly wouldn’t be in any kind of shape to follow me off the motorway to my drop.

Six 999 calls failed to get any action from three police forces, who have of course apologised, as they do. BUT, why was the car driver doing 50mph in lane 2, why did the lorry driver go into lane 3 rather than undertake, and how can you ram a car repeatedly but it is still driveable?
