Considering the amount of rain we’ve been having and the fact he was fully loaded you would think that he’d have thought twice about it but obviously not!! but he’s not the first and won’t be the last, and lets be honest it keeps the sensible drivers entertained.

I think it was he mis-spelt Scania (Scandia) they were referring to not the number of wheels.

A double drive normally has 16 wheels. And rear lifts occasionally have doubles on rear. But not this one
Yet again how grateful i am that when i might have dropped the odd bollock or three, they were mostly during the days before every tom ■■■■ and harry had a camera or video phone always at the ready, and some minor hiccup like this wasn’t ‘news’.
Verges, bah, you’ve only got to drop half a steering wheel off and its gone.
What he’s done is rather silly and naive, and border line idiotic with a loaded trailer on. Oh well, at least the people in the cars behind were “really good about it”, helping him out of his predicament he landed himself in on their behalf and making sure he wasn’t trapped/dying because of the stunt he’d pulled off so they could get to Tesco’s a bit quicker, that’s all that matters really. They’re now at home telling their family and mates about it and he’s stuck in soft ground and his company will have a multiple thousand pound bill for recovery.
What on earth must firms think when the phone rings and its the driver or the police telling them that something like this has happened? At least it didn’t go right over, spewing the load out in to the neighbouring field, small graces and all that.

When I was constantly doing the single track roads in the NW of Scotland I was told never to pull on to the verge for a car or van, simply because I could pull them back on the road if needs be but they couldn’t do the same for me.

Thats probably not a ditch , its a rhyne . cars sink and people drown in them . i expect he was there loading somerset peat . is bad enough on the tarmac , the road sinks under the weight its floating on soft peat .
If he is coming from west huntspill he must be in the weight limit surely? For burtle he should have been coming from shapwick or even glasto me thinks . pretty sure cant beat 7.5t from huntspill . these limits are there for a reason in this area
