The name sounds something like he’s a Dutch national ?.In which case I’m surprised that his national authorities didn’t make a formal protest on exactly those grounds also bearing in mind the admission of guilt.It seems obvious that deportation and a banning order from the country with an agreed reasonable sentence to be served in the home country would have been more proportional.
You get less than that for stabbing someone
Why would he admit to bringing in similar amounts in previous journeys? Obviously he’s a bit of a blunt instrument!

I know from experience there is more than a grain of truth in there
It’s not like me bringing in a few extra pouches from Tenerife for personal use, he’s making thousands. Got what he deserved. And with the quantities we’re looking at here it’s obviously part of a bigger criminal racket, most probably involving drugs.
