Here’s how they get them out.

Nice lift by the crane driver.
A toot of the horn, a polite round of applause, and the chips are on their way!

Whereabouts in Cornwall is that exactly?
(So I know to avoid it   )

Plymouth somewhere if I recall.

raymundo:
Was the bloke in shorts but no hi vis with a phone in his left hand waving his arms around the driver ■■ I couldn’t see if he was wearing flip flops though …

I assumed he was the house owner as he seemed to be pointing at the damage, although I suppose it night have been the driver moaning about the house being in the way

and then wait for the hefty bill from the crane operator!

Probably quite reasonable compared to the bill from BT or whoever it was moving those cables :unamused:

Forder Bridge near Saltash apparently.

“The driver managed to avoid a crash by slamming the vehicle into reverse when the brakes failed” :exclamation: :bulb:

I’m surprised that Juddian has not used this as a prime example why manual gear boxes are superior over automatic…

SJB:

Wheel Nut:
It does

Yeah but if you muck up the independent drive and keep going wrong, it’s not a fail, I don’t think it’s even a minor.
Don’t ask how I know

It is a fail. Don’t ask how I know

Driving test: cars: What happens during the test - GOV.UK

Going off the route
The examiner will not give you a fault for taking a wrong turning.

They’ll help you get back on the route if you do.

INDEPENDENT DRIVING FAIL
During the independent driving section, you will not fail for making a wrong turn, but you may fail if you become excessively stressed and panic to the extent that your driving becomes affected.

My examiner explained that although I messed up pretty bad (had to do a tricky turn in the road on a busy road to get myself out of it), as it was done safely it was still a pass. (I knew he’d be watching me like a hawk at that point, so I tried my best to not screw up any more than I already had)
If you commit a serious in the process of going wrong, or at any other time, then of course you will fail, but being useless at following directions or navigating via the roadsigns isn’t a fail in itself.
There’s obviously an element of luck to it. If you took the wrong exit on a roundabout by mistake then it’s not even a minor, but if that exit has a 7.5T prohibition as you enter, then it’s a retest!
