I see they have identified the person who hired the trailer, another Northern Irish person. The other man in his 20s arrested in Dublin yesterday is also from Northern Ireland, it’s been said he drive the trailer to the port in Zeebrugge, his arrest is in relation to another outstanding issue rather than this case. The whole thing seems to be centred around Northern Ireland.
What i find strange / amateur about the whole thing;
if you are people smuggling would you do it in a Bulgarian registered truck? That has to draw more attention to the authorities. You prob save a few grand a year doing so but pittance versus the smuggling business.
Especially in a blinged up one - isn’t that bull bar illegal, crying to get pulled over.
a fridge seems like a lethal choice to use. Yes it can help avoid detection versus a curtain but surely if it’s an organised business they would have cop on to realise the risks.
why stop where he stopped, on a bend near a junction. opening a door to let 39 people out (who it’s reported had a bag each) is going to take a while.
hiring a trailer from a company which advertises that they have satellite tracking in all their trailers is foolish.
combining a blinged Bulgarian reg’d tractor to a trailer which clearly shows that it has been hired from a southern Irish company (sticker on rear) again increases the chances of police / vosa / customs pulling over.
I reckon a few vans were there to meet the truck who then fled, this is a missing link. No way were the smugglers going to let these people (assume little or no English, never been to uk before) out at an industrial estate In the middle of night and drive off. The smugglers own these people and rely on enslaving them until debts repaid.
Could be working on the theory that a truck so blinged up and fully illuminated is so obvious that the Feds think he can’t afford to be upto anything so don’t bother giving him a tug . To be fair if he is on it the theory worked because he called them rather than the other way round

I don’t know who you are referring to but she is probably pointing out that nobody can ask for asylum from outside the country, so genuine refugees have no option but to enter illegally first.
Of course, if everybody agrees that there is absolutely no-one in this world today worthy of seeking refuge then that is ok, but if they were allowed to apply from foreign parts it might just slow down this influx.
Not in this case though, it seems that they may be Vietnamese and as far as I know, at home they are only suffering from poverty, not threatened in a way which would qualify them as refugees.

as in my previous post,from the ones in the trailer,to their fam and friends who paid traffickers ,to the organisers this end,to what looks like woody in the tangmobile,then each and every one of them is a criminal doing illegal activity and can only be tarred with the same brush.
in 1 paragraph the media bleat on about impoverished parents earning 300 quid a month between them,thereafter saying they remortgaged their house to pay 20 ir 30k to the other criminals.
they must have a good mortgage repayment scheme going.
its not like pre tinterweb days when girls got promised a job as a nanny and then basically kidnapped,these illegals and the thousands preceeding them all have phones so its not as if they are starting their attempts to illegally enter britain with their eyes closed.

In relation to this forum on this…, I reckon the mods get stuff right most of the time.
I’ve not had many dealings with Rikki, but Dave seems a level headed type on a similar wavelength to me, but when perceived racism is accused or illustrated, I think they become a bit trigger happy on the ‘locked thread’ front.
Sometimes it does no harm to show what people really think, as long as it is not too malicious, because most of the time the real racists do not do themselves any favours.

Those plots of land get parcelled up and sold to the Chinese.
So, the Chinese get an empire without firing a shot, and the surplus population gets exported to be a burden on the population of the UK.
Chinese is replacing English as the language of education in many former British colonies in Africa. The Chinese are building roads, dams, railways etc in Africa like there’s no tomorrow.
