Hi everyone,
This is a bit of a boring topic but I really need some advice so here we go:
I’ve been driving rigids for just over a year in south London with some trunking all over the country and just passed my class1 with 3 minors that I’m so happy about.
The problem is that life in London is just too expensive and the misses and I thinking of to Milton Keynes area where she is from.
My worry is that what are my chances of finding work there with my little experience or am I going to rely on agencies?
any advice appreciated.
thanks
Anywhere near the middle of the country is a good bet, my brother lives down the road in Buckingham a very nice part of the world.
You are within striking distance of Daventry from MK for example where there should be a rake of work, my advice, be wary of agencies they are thieves and bandits they will promise the earth and generally deliver very little do your homework.
Also my golden rule is to try and avoid anything thats run for profit, good luck.

I live in Northampton and have only been trucking for a year. Got a job straight away,no probs. Being in the middle of the country you are probably in the best location for trucking. Loads of warehouses in mk and Northants. I’d say the only problem you might have, is settling in to the soulless concrete town of mk. But hey that’s just my opinion, you might like it? Good luck!

Hes on about such as supermarkets etc who provide a service ,allways got trls available for storage when the warehouse is full and dont mind running round empty just to keep the stores happy.

No. Try and find jobs where companies run trucks to deliver their own stuff rather than companies where transport is their main business. You find that they tend to pay better and the conditions and work is better too because they’re not running the trucks to make a profit from them.
Thanks a lot Everyone I really appreciate the ideas.
