Well, to put it short and sweet, have you tried some of the dozens and dozens of truck breakers in the greater Moscow area?
REading this post, I think the OP is looking for Tarpaulins, old rope and sheet type, Not curtains.
Best bet is to try trailer repair yards.
I only know of one though Crusely Trailer Engineering Ltd which is in Thurrock.
Sure there are more out there though.
I would ask Bewick or some of the others on the Old Timers Forum & the ‘Roping and Sheeting’ thread
I don’t think that is what she meant, but I get a strong familiar scent coming off this thread, the one you smell in the countryside in spring, when fertilizing takes place
I just need to find out where could I get a tarpaulin itself, and the shipping is not exactly what I’ve asked about
The above companies make new tarpaulins, could be possible they have off-cuts of old sheets beyond economic repair. At £4/Kg it’ll still be quite expensive to send. An 10m long rolled up sheet weighs over 50kg. Good luck!

I think Ms Mozzarella usually goes by Desmond or in some circles, “Karla”
Hi Liliya,
here are some firms from my area (Liverpool and North Wales) for you to contact:
…be sure to mention the expression we use -" off-cuts" - and they will know exactly what your enquiry is about.
Good Luck
I can get pallets of Curtains that have been removed.
Don’t mean to hijack the thread but I’m looking for a bit of old tarpaulin or curtain, just enough to cover a pallet of coal on my mooring, so if anyone has some in the Rugby/Coventry area please let me know. I’m too mean to hand over any cash money for it but I can collect it or I’ll take you and your friends/family out for a ride out on the boat as payment if you can deliver it to CV23 0PT on a Saturday/Sunday morning (nearby Rose Narrowboats charge £180 to hire out their rather inferior day boat for 6 hours).

£30 quid an hour? Wouldn`t get out of bed for that.

Funnily enough I had an email yesterday from Russia. When I clicked on the link, a few of the women on there had worn out and old curtains on show, and for sale.I could put you in touch if like.
Was it this one

If Harry Monk is being serious I have a plastic tarp around 10ft.square which I used on my shed roof when the felt had deteriorated.I’m not going down Rugby way but I could make a parcel of it to ship down.

I am being serious, I do need a bit of tarp or curtain but because my boat doesn’t have a postal address it’s something I’d have to collect locally, but many thanks for the kind offer.

Have you received a pm from the OP yet? Considering she has logged on after your post.
