Looking for some info if poss

Morning
Just wondering has anybody here have any knowledge of working for John Pearce based in Glyneath,
I do see there vehicles about around the country .
They said they have vacancies for class 2 tramper , I currently live about 90 miles from there but if away most / all of week it’s not a problem.
My current job which I really enjoy seems to be getting quieter by the week . Just getting a feel for what’s out there if things do take a turn for the worse , not gonna jump ship yet but options & eyes open so to speak.
Thanks

I worked for them 25 years ago, so my info may be a little out… :grimacing:

They are a succesfull, quiet local haulier. They make money by buying vehicles, and running them for many years, rather than paying ScaVulvAfdes lots of money to advertise the truck for three years…
I think many of their drivers still stay for many years, unlike the merry go round of Owenski, John Nolan Raymond’s, and the rest around Newport.
It will have changed from 25 years back, but it’s one of the three companies I would consider working for again.

I’ve not worked for them, but I have worked for a small company in the same area and met a few of their drivers. They all seem happy, and I’ve never heard anything detrimental about the company on the local grapevine. Personally I’d seriously consider them if I were looking for another job.

90 miles to work would mean getting up 1 1/2 hrs earlier than you would need to with a normal commute , then there’s trying to get home on a Friday , I did 50 miles & what would normally take a hour would take two , mileage on the car , and the cost of the fuel
And you just get fed up with it , much better to be as close to home in my experience
