Looking for my old VOLVO F10

Hi folks. I am looking to see if my old truck is still around or if she is dead n buried. It was a 93 L reg Volvo F10 reg L428CCX. I last seen her in 2003 when I sold her. The last I new about her was that she went to Southern Ireland. According to the free tax website checks it has never been taxed since then so either it is still in Southern Ireland or gone abroad or sadly cut up.

I hope this is in the correct section if not sorry.

Colin

last time it was in a Volvo dealer ,was in newry in n/Ireland for a abs fault 2009 if that helps,Keith

Thanks Keith. It had ABS faults when I had it too. It was the first truck I owned. Great motor sorry I let it go. Cheers

What reg had it in Southern Ireland?..or what county was it registered in?

I don’t know what reg it had in Ireland I only know it headed over there and as far as I can check it has never been taxed in the UK since I sold it so I suspect that it has been reregistered.

Thanks

Have you any pics?..I could post them on Irishrigs…there’s a good chance someone will have information on it.

The normal situation in Southern Ireland is to reregister the imported vehicle particular to the county where it is being initially registered. It then carries that particular number until it is scrapped/exported.

For example; 93 C 1234
93 denotes the year of intial registration of the vehicle…whether within the state or abroad.
C denotes the county where it was initially registered…C = Cork,D = Dublin etc…
1234 = Sequential number of the number of vehicles registered in the particular county of that particular year.

Hello Twinstacks.I wish you success in locating your Volvo F10 lorry,L428 CCX. If I were you,I would try
contacting the last known owner of your Volvo lorry and also that Volvo lorry dealer that is mentioned by Keith.
Sister Volvo F10 lorry,registration-wise,is L427 CCX,and is apparently operated by Gary Buist,of Perth,
Scotland, and was photographed on the A9 main road near Perth on Tuesday,27th March,2012:-

Cheers Ron. Yes I knew all that and thats why I knew that it had never been used in Britain after I sold it. From what the good folks on here say it seems it’s in the Newry area of Ireland. I would love to see my old truck again just to see how she looks nowadays. Thanks everyone for their input it’s very much appreciated.
