Look at These Idiots

most likely its been a quiet week for hunt saboteurs and tree hugging.

So, you would all be happier if the protests were much stronger, longer, and when asked the protesters argued instead of leaving you in peace?

nope,id be happier if they didnt leave when asked, the cops put the water cannon onto them and arrested them before kicking their whale kissing teeth out.the same as they should do for any illegal gathering.

The devil being in the detail, of course.
Many here hate slow vehicles, think they should be outlawed, and the drivers shot. Many here hate roads and access being blocked.
So, would the earlier fuel tax protesters deserve a good kicking?

Unfortunately, doing good deeds does little in the media.
Without media cover politicos will do nowt. With media cover they may do summat useful, but the holding of breath until it happens could be fatal.

I doubt politicians will do a great deal due to the protests, maybe a few piecemeal policy statements the same with the response from global business.

When I watched these students etc protest, saying the politicians must do something, I wonder how much they’ve changed their lives to reduce their carbon footprint. I bet almost all of them have signed up to the consumerist society,

I bet most have the latest tech, using raw materials transported half way round the World, with the finished product imported from China, only for it to be discarded for the next upgrade in a year’s time.

I’m sure many will spend their allowance on clothes, made cheaply in the poorest countries, by some of the lowest paid workers, only to discard them when the next fashion season starts. The clothing industry is supposed to have one of the largest carbon footprints of all, with many clothes discard to land fill after a few months.

I bet many want to go to the supermarket and buy cheap food, or food sold “out of season” with little care of how its produced and how far it’s been transported.

I’m sure many will go on an overseas holiday each year and maybe a few weekend breaks as well, taking advantage of cheap flights.

If they really want to change the World, surely they’re a big enough movement to change it themselves by changing the way they live their lives, then global business has to respond. But that’s difficult, far easier to shout at others to change, I’m sure they believe the changes necessary have no impact on their lives.

Youre clearly correct that joined up thinking is required. Those who have a Toyota Prius waiting for when they disembarque from their flight are a joke! The questions you ask about consumerism and modern society in general, are very valid. I sure as hell dont know any good answers to them.
But those questions and contradictions being raised here are surely a small step in the “right” direction? Us all becoming more aware of the issues, and the pitfalls, is a start surely?

Now then extinction rebellion, go and glue yourselves to the A75, on a Thursday when the tangs are on their way home for a weekend at home. Now that would make good TV.

I think the word franglais used “contradictions” is the issue, these tree hugger types need to really look how they live their lives before they jump on the lefty loony bandwagon… :bulb:

And all because some mental teenager in Sweden says so.

Why does this outfit use the “Ven” symbol from the back of a Black Widow Spider?

If that glue actually works in keeping their hands stuck fast to the road surface - that’s a damned good advert for that particular make of glue, since “Loctite” bloody well can’t do that! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

The only ones likely to become “extinct” - are those who think playing “Blind Man’s Buff on the A20” - is a good way to get things done. - And that’s just the wimmin!

(Political Satire - warning: contains the odd swear word)

I always thought a “Greta Gorgon” was something that could turn you into stone in D&D?

Exactly right Franglais, but you have to remember there are some only see things from their point of view (ONLY) and everyone else is talking pish.

What happens after brexit when there is a glue shortage?

Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

We will inport our horses from france for a high sum. Glue prices will rise maybe stopping them from doing such acts.

The Tribulation - continues… The players have already arrived. We now await the signs in the sky to herald the final act of this long-awaited apocalypse play to begin. Imagine everyone’s surprise when Emmanuel “God With Us” Macron’s France ends up taking out the “Fake Religion” and “False Prophet” of Extinction Rebellion with it’s ‘Greta Gorgon’, capable of turning anyone to stone with that stare of hers! Things don’t look good for the “Babylon Streetwalker” either, lets say, also due to be turned upon by Macron in due course…

Where’s “Faithful and True” in all of this?
“Jogging On” by the looks of it…
