Ahhh you know me so well.
does anyone work for them?
Had assesment drive and interview last week with them. Just passed my c+e back end of november .It is to start off on 7.5 tonners and work my way up to the artics. Hopefully i will get a start with them fingers crossed.
what sort of info do you want dave.
I’ve done a load of agency work for them running out of mainly Hull but doing odd jobs for Leeds depot. Quite a cushy job to be honest. Well maintained wagons and never had any aggro from the office staff. Was a mix of timber, paper, backloads out of the Schweppes factory in Dagenham mostly with the odd collection of Yellow Pages from just outside York.
Money wasn’t fantastic for the employees but the work was easy enough.

the hull job conor is a completly different kettle of fish than leeds, the hull operation has always been a lot easier and cushier than leeds.
afaik
money £6.38 ph for the first 40 then time and half
sat time and half, sun double. £19.00 night out and £2.00 a day meal allowance. if you work over 12 hours you get an extra 45 mins taken off you.
parking paid.
work is ok mainly timber and not alway sheets so plenty of strapping up, the main problem is blue eyed boys, you will go out at say 13.00 collect a full load for say scotland for next day, then you will have to bring it back to the yard and drop it, blue eyed boy hooks up and away he goes, then you get sent home to come back in at 6am with multi drop lancashire, and that happens a lot. i understand there is a lot of multidrop out of widnes with timber now as well and you can expect to be leaving widnes on a thursday night with 6 drops london for friday as well.
longs is very family orientated, all the management and office staff at related to the long’s. once the horror stories have finished its a good place to work and i would go back tomorrow if they would have me. another thing if you ever have any trouble there they will back you up to the hilt.
the vehicles are ok and trailers are ok, no extras just basic stuff.
