long way from home

switchlogic:
You see lots of Iranian trucks in Italy for some reason. There’s a services near Milan they all congregate, great for spotting weird and wonderful trucks, including some Chinese makes and the odd elderly US cabover. I love spotting trucks from weird and wonderful places!

There used to be a few on the ferry from Istanbul to Trieste, which might be why you saw them so many in Italy. You’re right about the variety of trucks that used to come over, interesting kit even the European ones.

Was this thread when started about a picture of an Iranian truck in Maidenhead or am I suffering the same recurring nightmare again ■■? :unamused: :unamused:

No you’re spot on.It’s just that the pic was followed by the point of it being a similar analogy of us having open trade with ■■■■ Germany in August 1939.Feel free to agree or disagree. :unamused:

Is that really your problem or is it jealousy that the driver has driven through more Countries in one trip than you managed in a whole career.

That Iranian has a better truck than his compratriots of years ago did, you would often see them in Germany or Austria with Mack non sleepers, with dessert tyres and no night heaters, but had curtains sas they slept across the seats. Their trailers were often flats with containers on and the company named after it ICT iranian container transport.
I have friends of mine who still do middle east work ( in fact they have tipped last week… it took 3 weeks to get to Saudi, but a week of that was a hold up in Greece because of a strike. they get a ferry from Italy to Greece…then drive across Turkey, where they get another ferry to Egypt, and then a drive over the dessert.

As I said I don’t view it any differently to a German registered wagon or any other type of transport link being allowed in and welcomed here in August 1939. :unamused:

Although admittedly possibly the same could arguably apply in the case of all Islamic countries trade links for a similar reason.

What could possibly go wrong.

Nothing to do with religion then.

More like racist, anti semitic, genocidal Iranian foreign policy.Which probably no coincidence just happens to be applying that policy as an Islamic Republic and certainly not before 1979.

So basically, nothing to do with trucks and drivers then, regardless of where they come from.

Carryfast:
We really shouldn’t be having any type of relationship including trade with that zb hole of a place and its regime since February 1979. :imp:

And what do you base your “rant” on?

Wouldnt be what your told by the British ■■■■■■■■ Corporation,The super soaraway sun or some other such “unbiased” sources would it?

Try trueactivist.com and look up “guy rides his bike through Iran”

This bloke has no axe to grind,no hidden agenda he just speaks as he finds.

WE all put way to much faith in what the idiot lamp in the corner spews out as fact instead of looking past their “propaganda” and delving a little deeper into reality instead of having our minds poisoned with ■■■■■■■■.

Economic sanctions ( which we should be applying ) obviously applies to transport links of whatever type.Which obviously means Iranian registered trucks. :unamused:

Are you saying that Iran shouldn’t be subjected to such sanctions. If so why.

Forgetting Politics - and most drivers just get on with things regardless who is in power – speak to any of the Old Middle East hands and the majority will speak highly of the Iranian drivers and the Iranian people too.

Back in better days, the Iranian drivers were well educated, very good International drivers and always joined in if someone was in trouble and needed help – I doubt they have changed much!!

There were also a fair number of Brits & other Europeans driving for Iranian firms on Euro runs.

Iran is still a safe country with friendly people and the food at roadside stops is light years better than the UK.

With Iran & Europe getting closer together following the Nuclear Plant and agreement to deal with a common enemy, with any luck there will be a growth in road freight to Iran.

I wouldn’t hesitate, in fact I’d jump at the chance to go there again. Just must have a manual box.

Dont whisper smithy  but i`d rather a trailer box and an autobox… Last time i did Iran was in a 141 with no night heater ( cab heaters were ■■■■ without a blanket up the front lol ) and a manual box which ( as per scanny ) kept jumping out of gear…so i would have an auto this time, no roof rack, but a night heater, better suspension, and actually get paid for doing the job ha ha

The fact is the Iranian revolution in 1979 changed the relationship with Iran beyond recognition not to mention hope.As for Iranian nuclear energy as I said why in place sitting on a sea of oil and natural gas.As for the so called ‘common enemy’ more like Islamic Jihadist deception in that the Islamic ‘common enemy’ of Israel and the west,is a more believable fact, than the bs idea of Shia and Sunni divisions going as far as war between Iran and Saudi and peace between Iran and Israel. :unamused:

Have you ever wondered if your on the wrong forum mate? :open_mouth:

Wrong planet I’d say.

So somebody comes on a trucker’s forum making an innocent truck related comment about a driver being a long way from his home base
Cue Carryfast :unamused: … who still manages to make a link with Genocide, The Iranian revolution of 1979, Merkel, Obama, ■■■■ Germany, and Israel. :open_mouth:
At least he has resisted the temptation to mention Socialism and James Callaghan on this occasion, so thank Christ for small mercies.

As somebody said do you not think that this forum maybe isn’t right for you mate :bulb: ,…just saying like

The boring deranged [zb] [zb] you off as well. :imp: don’t worry you’re not alone.

As that Iranian driver wasn’t all that far from C/F I’m surprised he didn’t take him a couple o pork pies and a can or two of Fosters … would create better international relations, providing he don’t start waffling on like he does on here

.

Iranian cook it self and drink Tea.
They have a few Forwarders as they dont deliver each sending itself.
One Place is near Salzburg where they unload and wait for a Load back.
EU-Lorries deliver then in all over EU.
