Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

Hi All
Fergi the book says (but that has given me duff information before) George Holbrook & Bill Miles the other load had a TK as a support vehicle
Cheers Rich.

Cheers Rich…George Holbrook was still driving lorries into his late '70’s. he may even be 80 now and may still be driving.

Monty Theobald knows him well, and can confirm it, and, when the tight git decides to get himself into the 21st century and buy himself a computer instead of wasting his money in the Sam’s and the Wheatsheaf he’ll be able to make posts himself, and post some of the hundreds of pictures he has as well… :unamused:

Afraid not Rich, use to do rallies and ploughing competitions in Cornwall, but now it’s just used for cutting the paddock.

Only go back to the UK for Weddings and funerals, the less I go back, the better ! Although the last time , our sons wedding coincided with the first Wheatsheaf bash, which was great to meet up with Tony (Mappo) and Jim Street after so many years.

Sammyopisite,

I’d take second if it avoids the play off’s so good luck to you.

Ainacs.

was there a prize? Scania badge maybe? (only joking, I like Dafs!!!)

Tribsa,

Mont get a computer, you been on the Sherry?

Anyone, I’d guess the seed company building mentioned above was built when the water was closer to the building. Am i right? Before my time but knowing how flat the area is it must all be reclaimed across to the water as we now know it? Also looks like the Millbrook rd pictured is very new?

Mike

He will be sadly missed by all.
