The sun has got his hat on hip, hip, hip, hooray, the sun has got his hat on i’ll cut the grass today.thats for haylage for the horses of course.
Me to J.D…last few years our neighbour baled the field ( 120 bales ) he had around 60 sheep, he’s now cut right back to 10, so no longer needs the hay. I’ve just finished cutting it low with the topper…shame to waste it, but no one wants it…still, good excuse to sit on the Fergie for a few hours, I pretend it’s a Volvo and I’m on me way to Italy…without a permit…

Well fergie the mowerman turned up at 10 oclock to do me 6.5 acres and 35 minutes later he was on to his next job, it cuts 9mtrs. in 1 pass how things have changed over the years. Heres a picture to show you the machine that did it.

I almost had a start with Hills myself in the early 70,s…i was offered a job but at that time
most hauliers were paying a £1 an hour and Hills were a fair bit behind that so declined the offer.
