AFTER THE VOLVO DAD HAD THIS SCANIA 94D FROM NEW 1998


WITH THE SMALLER MOTORS THEY DONE ALOT OF CHINA CLAY WITH AN UP RATED 20ft SCALE THEY COULD CARRY NEARLY HAS MUCH AS A 38 TONNER ON THE SAME JOB.

HI R JACKO , great pics , although im one of the younger drivers on here ,i have a great interest in old cars and trucks , i had the pleasure of meeting your dad a year or so ago when i was on agency box work , for around 2 weeks i meet him at a lot of waste paper sites , we both got done at sainsburys basingstoke over a 6 hour turn around ! ,great bloke ,happy retirement ! , here is a few pics .

I would do that but it would be very difficult to do from a crane. There again if i get a big enough swing in the spreader i might be able to help you out.lol :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

Anyone remember this Smith of Maddiston Guy ? It was the only one finished in those colours. Mick Hennessey drove it for a while, untill he and Bobby Knox left to go to Smithers, when they were based at Lex Tillisons. I had the oppertunity to join them, but prefered to stay on general haulage work. I drove it for about a year after Mick left. The thing that sticks in my mind was the short stubby exhaust, which, by the time you reached Penrith on the way to Scotland, you were deaf . Also,no dodgy nights, as it stuck out like a sore thumb.
