Long Departed Southampton Hauliers (Part 1)

Hi Chris. The cheque is in the post.Should arrive any year now.Regards Charlie

Ian and I are perusing the situation re: the ash cloud, and are looking for a money making opportunity.

There are many tourists stranded on the Costa del Sol so I think we could shuttle a few by road…anyone want to get us return loads, those looking to go on holiday? Reasonable rates

Seriously tho, some hauliers must be making some good money out of this…who are they?

Hi all i used to pull the johnson & johnson trailers to when i worked for roy muscato we did bananas out off portsmouth to huddersfield i think or up that way (the trailers used to bend a bit with weight in them they had no real chassis if i remember right) the go to gargrave out the back of skipton swop trailers then back to boots in basingstoke to tip.i think the bloke the roy did it for was working for johnsons then left there and started eagleway i think. memory a bit cloudy too much cider at weekend

gerbil sb152
Hi Kev the guys name was John Mynett lived in Petersfield, drank with Roy in the Welcome Inn, he used to work for Gomms Transport Cardiff, I think they had the J&J contract, when they finished John went to work for a chap from Bristol John Yendle who took the contract on with a fleet of Saviems and later Berliets. As you say lots of trailer change overs at Gargrave and back to Basingstoke or Cosham.
Is Roy Muscato still about ?
Regards
Richard

Has anyone ever heard of a driver named BILL KITT ? Apparantly from Southampton area.

He was employed by a small Iranian haulier named PASAGAD and drove a yellow F10.
I’ve posted a new topic entitled “PASARGAD - Iranian haulier - help needed” if anyone wants to see the truck.

Please post any replies to that topic. Many thanks ASH

Hi Ash, i,m afraid i cant help you mate, but there,s a few old codgers that read and contribute to this thread that might be able to assist.
