Tone
Sorry to hear it’s all going a bit pear shaped mate, don’t shoot yourself in the foot though ( probably less damage if you shot yourself in the head ). Jobs ain’t what they use to be buddy, when you just kicked one out, went down the road, and got another.
Having said that, you’ve been around a bit ( like the tart you are ) someone will feel sorry for you and give you a crust no doubt. I remember we spoke at the Wheatsheaf last year, should have got out by the time you were 40 ! but still, you might be surprised what else you could do !!!

It reminds me of our Smith’s days. Bob Alford fired me for something, can’t even remember what
( think he did it at least 3 times ! ). It was 7.00 in the morning down at the compound by the floating bridge. So I get my gear out the wagon, leave it in Terry Barfoots old van, walk 200 yards down to see Alf at Yardley’s, half an hour later I’m loading fruit at 103 !! Just before mid-day Bob turns up and tells me stop f***in about and come back to work, the fact he fired me seemed to have gone over the top of his head. They were the days Tone, out of one and into another, plenty of work if you had a good reputation !!!
Bonne chance, me old mucker !!

Hi Dave, should have taken your advice mate but it,s 20 years too late now. :unamused: :unamused:
Like you say the days of leaving one job and walking into another are long long gone, in fact this is the first time for many years i,ve been in this
situation and it bloody frustrating. I,ve made a few enquirys and made a few phone calls mate but it aint looking good.
On the plus side, at least i,m still in work unlike many drivers.
Will keep you posted. Hope you and family are well.
Tony

Hi Mappo thought it was  Nice bit of reversing ■■? :sunglasses: have trouble getting it on the bay ■■?
Keep smiling Tony some thing all ways turns up when you least expect it   R Jimski

When we started tipping the tellies up there, they couldn’t cope with 8+ trucks and all had to be tipped. Deciding to leave next morning, some would go to the supermarket for some vino and grub whilst others made the "furniture"and fire. The factory next door housed a “night watchman”, who used to get upset at the noise!

Jimski: There is no organising “The Gathering”. The Wheatsheaf, Bank Holiday Sunday in August should anyone wish to turn up. We just rely on someone (Gerbil usually) to advise Tim that some people might be calling in. He might be better prepared this time!

Hi Gazzer thanks for that, Gerbil did you get that Kev ■■? :sunglasses: Regards Jimski

Hi all yes i will have a word with tim about bank holiday sunday are we posting it on here now and not rawlings thread than.

Me again that should have read on the rawlings thread then not than sorry.
