So sorry to hear of his passing last time I saw Trevor was in Minsted Club about a year ago after the funeral of a young girl from cancer, I must say he looked a bit fragile then. I had known Trevor for years and had watched him slowly rebuild a steam engine in the Clapcott workshop over at Nutsey lane Totton, then I used to see him at the Minsted club he was also a good friend of Doug Ranger from Micheldever.
He and his brothers Seymour and Graham were apprentices at the AEC works in Southall Middlesex and used to ride push bikes up to there on a Monday morning if the couldn’t get a lift and back again on a Friday!!!
RIP Trevor
Regards Pat
Pat with reference to your words about Trevor (rip) I noticed you mentioned Doug Ranger and I had this horrible thought that you may not know he passed away a little while back.Via con Dios to both of these old stalwarts of the early days of haulage in this part of the country.
his funeral will be at tarrent hinton and a wake at drucillas pub which is nearby i can find out dates but as yet there not set
the steam traction engine he built was called winnie
he was an incredibly clever man
sadly graham is now in a care home with mental problems, seymour i know suffered with the big c but hes still here so hopefully its not too bad

Here are some more of Ennis Stratton’ pics
Who recognises any of these places?
And a pic of the man himself many years ago.
hi pat, the 1st photo would be on mont cenis, over looking the lake. the 2nd photo i think is lanslebourg- mont cenis on the n6 ,the last village before you start climbing on the french side, the others not sure.
ft
I agree with ft, the first one being at top of Mt Cenis.
The second i reckon is Lanselbourg just before start of climb on the french side.
The restaurant looks familiar, probably on that same route.
Could be a busy day for you on Thursday Pat.
Whoops…just re read ft,s post. just seen his Lanselbourg answer.
i was,nt copying…honest.

hi mappo, glad you agree, been over their a few times, last time was in 2003 with a davies wagon, try and catch up for a chat later had your n/heater fixed yet. yes i did re-edit after having another look .ft
Night heater not fixed Paul, and wont be now cos i,m in the office for 10 days
by which time my new MAN should have arrived.
If you,ve got the time ft try and get into Pats this coming Thursday lunchtime.
Might have to bring your own cup though.
First one is Le Mont Cenis Fort du Variselle et glacier de Bar (3315m)
Second one is Lanslebourg
Third one I don’t know but googled it and it is ROUTE NATIONALE 6 71240 St Cyr South of Chalon
Fourth one says Le montagne par B, Grange I think it is the same mountain in the backgroud of the Lanselbourg pic
hi pat, you put the elevation at 3315m , the elevation i,m sure is about 2083m on the road, the cafe sits down
from the road. i’m sure their is a sign saying the elevation.

Hi Paul
That was a postcard Ennis gave me to put on here and that was what was written on the back!!!

Hi Pat the third one is Norbert & Jaqueline’s, if you look under the main name it says so. It’s 3 or 4 kms south of the
bunch including the Footballers.
