Yes Tony I think it was Mark Compton’s 89 I seem to remember that he bought it off Ian Elkins. I know that Sean Moran drove it as I did a trip with him, in that 89 and Mick Olio in one of Compton’s other trucks and me of course in an old Scania 111 over Cenis with tvs for Milan that was probably the last year before the 19 ton weight limit came in.
Hi Tony (mappo) yeah of course i remember you i know we crossed paths a lot but i nearly came and worked with you as buzzby offerd me a job but he was too late cos the diabetes already got me ! was a bit of a worrying time as i recall. the 89 was one of Mark Comptons i did a bit for him, me and Micky Olio used to drive between us, at the time that pic was taken was prob the last trip i ever did i remember it well it was taken in Marne near Venice with rolls of steel.when i got home i had the letter from DVLA telling me to hang up the HGV.
