pdw:
just a quick heads up , as jj72 has mentioned patrick dyer , i’m sure most of you will know about his second great book on scania 110 , 111 , 140 ,141 , this features some local hauliers inculding , ainacs and waters bros among others , cheers for now , .

that waters bros tag axle in the book is a BEAUTY - great photos all round but some of the captions and info is a bit dodgy, well worth 20 quid though

Hi Pat & All
I think the Fenwicks Bedford is in F S Turners yard in Brokenford Lane Totton it looks like the big gantry crane.
Perhaps Turners (now Allport Packing) made the cases.

Hi Richard I thought that too, did Fenwicks become Turners?

Regards Pat

Pandoro used to load for ISR from Membury to Michelin in Ballymena, and also out of Syms’ warehouse at Yatesbury - where would we be without abandoned airfields??

I was there as a very junior traffic clerk at the time, and I remember still being surprised by the addresses “ISR, Membury” and “ISR Yatesbury” on the collection notes, and by the fact that no-one in the traffic office actually knew the address or that a driver had to look for a building with something other than “ISR” on it. :unamused:

Nowadays I’m rather older and more cynical, and less prone to surprise, but it doesn’t stop me severely bending the ear of someone who puts a silly address in a booking because they haven’t the brain to realise that a driver in a rather large lorry needs to be able to find it, on time!!

Meeting up with “TIR Original” at weekend >>>> any messages ■■? I will pass them on , I am sure you can think of something !!!

According to my source a Mr Mark Fenwick owned F.S.Turner at the time & has now sold the company to Allport Packing.
Cheers Rich

Two guys out on a jaunt, decided they wanted a drink and went to the only bar in town that was closed! Only for siesta mind you. A quick phone call and their wishes were attended to! Thanks for visiting boys!
I tried to add a foto, not sure if its there, the img coding wasnt cut n pasting!

Why can I not cut n paste here anymore?

There ya go!

I didn’t know Jamesons had a depot in Spain !! I’d like to see Steve climb the ivy at Paladini’s Carisio like he used to in the old days
Did Gary drop in and see Valerie on the way down ?
