Good shot of Eddie, now chairman of RHA Livestock group, was awarded MBE for services to Livestock transport, had some good times with him and Kinger, remember Kinger exercising a prize Smithfield Pig, in Aosta on a piece of string through all the diesel & oil, whilst waiting for the vet, the agent went mad !! Also him getting Prince Charles in the back of a trailer to hold his polo ponies he was transporting.
I think Eddie is still working with Georges in Bruton Somerset?
Regards Richard

Does anyone remember George Hollbrook once worked for Hills Botley then
Eric Baker. He has been driving for Boarhunts and has just retired aged 79

Delivering the old Micky Mouse after Boarhaunt garage had done some work on it, to the Brickwork Museum at Burseldon. The Foden was donated by Redland Brick Co, but needed some work to get it running, and the chassis extended to take the body. The intention was to use it as a mobile exhibit at the Works on demonstration days.

Couldn’t tell you for sure, but I’m guessing that it is. The idea after it was finished was to use it around the yard to make it authentic as in the working days. That photo was taken about 10 / 11 years ago i think.
The Foden it’s self was in very good nick before Boarhunt had it . It had a really good service with all oils changed, brakes, etc, but needed nothing major, I drove it round the yard a few times and it was hard work !! Redland also supplied a body which was longer that the chassis, so the easiest route was to lengthen the chassis by a couple of feet.
I’m guessing if any local lads have ever visited the museum ,they would have spotted the truck, and will let you know.
Found this number in an old diary of mine for the Museum 01489 576248

Here we go a motley crew here in the office at 12 today do you recognise them all■■?
