Hi Gary,

From memory Reiner complete with drawbar trailer went across a roundabout down an embankment and ended up across all the lanes of the M2 motorway,if we could contact John Smith (Smudger) he has some cracking photo’s of it. Anybody know where he is? last I knew he was on C A Stevens at Grateley !!

Nice to hear this “Giant” of a man get a mention on this site.
First of all for you Kns 64, the place that you went to with me and Fred was
British Nuclear Fuels, somewhere up the west coast. This was done with 2
ACLZ flat American trailers with small nuclear fuel tanks chained on to the centre of the bed.

I remember those flat American trailers, while working for Fred
i did several loads of large pipes on them to the power station
at Dartford when it was being built, must have been around 74ish.

How y’doin mate?

The only Andy I remember on Armstrongs at that time, was a Scottish
lad, Andy Cables. The last I heard of him he was tpt manager for some
distribution depot.

Regards GAZ

Hi GAZ IOW,
Yeh that,s the guy, scottish.

I,m fine mate ta, how about your good self.

Gazzer
The photo of the Amstrong F12 getting its new tank, do you happen to know if it is GRV 464 X ,if it is I owned it after it had been cut down to a tractor unit by Princes. As written in the Busby thread it was written off outside Barcelona ,I have some photos of it with a groove in the cab roof as it ran down the armco barrier. Hopefully with my sons assistance I will post some of the pictures and early GBE ones when we return next week for Xmas .

Kerbut the F12 would have been a T or possibly a V reg. motor when I was there at Volvo…

Tony: As Gary says, Andy Cables. Are you thinking it was Chris Cadby’s Mrs.(French lady) that always met him at P&O Normandy?
