I think his name might have been smasher (one nearside mirror)but Im not sure.
Shiney Boots,
He was flash he had loads of stickers made up with his initials on and used to stick them on the back of everyone’s truck & trailer, you still see them now, I think he’s gone for a burton now !!

I am also led to beleive that he is now attempting the Spanish version of Master Chef
Oi! The only cooking I do is when I’m in the UK, I don’t see you complaining Mr.H!
SHINEYBOOTS: You are correct, it was Bo Edwards truck but I was the first driver and the second owner!
No offence intended

Did Tony Bradfield have The Joker after you ? and change it to Hot To Trot and it eventually caught fire at Cherbourg.
I cant remember where it went…I think Compton of Poole had a hand in it for an owner driver. It was alegedly seen last in Greece on Greek plates by Ian Elkins many years ago.
The first, The Joker, and second (by a whisker in front of EAA769W EC Transport, Poole) Bryan Yeardley’s driven by Joe. A6 South of Paris, August 1980
Tony Brady used to live across the road from the workshop when I was an apprentice… Many a Monday morning he would troll across and ask for a jump start on one of the F88’s, if it wasn’t BFC it was Skillybeck!
Barry’s Flying Circus
I havent seen any of these blue tilts mentioned:
Hi Gary there have been a few pics of Roba tilts
This was John Pikes Transcon when he was on for Jim Chandler RIP Poole
Scorey P at the Simplon
Pat was in today and was pleased to hear about your first trip not too pleased he lost his lump hammer though
He finally got a lift home with John M’Guinn who had an 88 Pat was amazed as John got tired and even let him drive his pride and joy,
He mentioned something about Bob Edwards and John in a lift on a Townsend boat having a heated debate when Bob hit him and said that was a karate chop, John promptly hit him with a fire extinguisher saying thats a fire extinguisher!!
While Pat was here we spoke with another name from the past Mick Winterbourne!
Regards Pat
AH! Jon McGinn. I know him and Bob didnt get on. John lived at Tidworth or somewhere also military. One night, coming home from the pub he took a shortcut through a lane. with a high hedge. It was pitch black and he heard a rustle in this hedge, john, worse for alcohol and handy with his fists was prepared, something came partly through the hedge, so he hit it, hard. He knocked out the Colonels horse! Well that was his excuse for a bandaged hand.
I dont suppose there is a photo of his F88 or him floating about. Mind you on this forum, you never know.
And Dear Mick, courtesy of Bakers Transport again around 1978. I would be on Bakers wharf for some reason and Pat would be huffin and puffin cos Eric has asked the impossible. Mick would give me a running commentary on Pats actions around the yard cos he’d seen it so many times. Eric really knew how to wind Pat up.
I cant say I liked Eric Baker but give him credit on one thing, he made you learn fast cos you didnt want to do it wrong again and he always wanted the last word!
Then Mick was at Kingswoods workshop before they got all the new triaxle trailers.
Hi Gazza I do’n’t know if you will remember me. I had my own lowloader trl
in Romsey that used Commodores tractor to pull. When i moved on to the
cartransporters you let me borrow your brown F10 when i had to move it a bit
quick. Thats if you are who i think you are
Regards Shiney Boots.
Ah! you’re right there ShineyBoots. The old brown F10 with the brown driver! No offence to him!

Fergie47:
Mappo’s new wagon!
Being inspected by customs before leaving Italy for the UK. Note the effort made to reduce tyre wear and headlight bulbs! the airfoil door can be left in the up position to gain aerodynamic stability at high speed, thus getting another trip in per month.
And Mappo, by your attire, I would say that you actually deserve that motor !!
really suits you !
Bloody marvelous innit. While i,m toiling away doing a honest weeks work, you
lot are taking the p…ss outa me.
Well i,ll have you know Fergie47, MaggieD and Gazza, that 3 Wheeler did me
proud. you shoulda seen it when i it was signwritten ( M.I.F.S.), had a sun visor fitted, TIR plate, spotlights and a pod on roof so i could sleep standing up.
UK - NAPOLI. one hit, only 3 weeks round trip.
Had to give it up in the end cos i was always afraid of having another front wheel blowout.
Did,nt want one of these again
Brilliant pics by the way Gazza
