Bloody hell Gerbil you bin on probation or somethin, aint heard from you in ages. By the way whats Smithy doin nowadays ?
Hello buzzer been a bit busy, smithy is driving an old daf for his brother (smiths of axford) doing timber mainly i just happened to be up near hungerford at a grain silo that’s also a public weight bridge he came in to weight had a chat for half hour he aint changed at all.
I remember his brother did logs big time , they had a yard on the airfield at Membury just behind the service area. I bought a load of logs of him once he had a couple of transit waggon and drags for delivery, quite a big setup it was.
Hi Pat ,i had 2 mercs on dual carriage for a bit bought of FT ,i think i sold them on to Barry Barnes who took 'em on a one way trip to the middle east, he also bought a merc of Micky Hughes which went the same way. He reckons it tok for ever to get there in them old mercs cos they wernt very electric up hills, we always called 'em Stuttgart hillstoppers

Good evening, think you are having a Mary tonight!?
FT sold you the Volvo’s mush.F12’s C560 CWN and C872 UMS, both early pusher axles. The trailers were relatively new, when ‘sliders’ came in and were SDC. The two drivers came with the trucks. A bloke called Richard and also ‘Geordie’ (Never knew his real name) The skellys ended up being sold to Jimmy Alford. The tractor units were kept and became the ‘UK Shunters’ - tipping and loading the international boy’s trailers, steered by Tony ‘the tart’ and Ian Birnie aka Chip. Tractors ended up being sold to Woolston Freight.

This is my 1000th post…do i get a prize ■■?
Mappo we could not let this moment pass without recognition of some sort, so im’e of to the local oxfam first thing in the morning to get you a new set of designer clobber, just bear in mind it might be a week or two gettin the gear as its bin really hot just lateley and i think theres bin great demand for short tight black shorts, black socks and sandles so you’ll have to be patient mate, but ime sure they will do there best.
Yeh thanks for that Buzzer…cant wait.
Just to let you lads that know me and what i drive and how it differs from the rest of the fleet,
well i,ve just been told that as from the end of next week the MAN is going and i,ll be getting a new Volvo
which will just merge with the rest of them. Perhaps i should get a Mappo name plate for the windscreen.
Trouble is that the ADR course i missed this week through illness has been re booked for me the week after next
so someone else will be driving my new lorry during its first week on the road.

MAN to a Volvo - probably a wise move Tone and you know it. The name plate is a great idea, but also put some Matador Spears at each end of the windscreen to remind oncoming HGV’S of your illustrius and adventurous past. Dont be too upset about someone else breaking it in for you - at least it will put some on the odometer for you to claim.
Knowing my luck Jim, that,s just what i was thinking.
Having said that mate my days of being cab happy have long long gone.
I keep em neat clean and tidy now and thats all…It,s just a working tool.
Horry…i was toying with the idea of the spears myself not
As i,ve said above mate it,s just a lorry that i unfortunately still have to live in all week.
