Hi Pete,

I’m fine thanks hope you and Mrs.Smith are well and Wolverhampton is still there ?

That’s Jock Walker R.I.P. in the photo good old boy always wore a shirt and tie, sadly missed, old school used to run abroad in a Thames Trader for Hattons years ago.
That was the first Turbostar I bought ended up with 12 of them, assortment of 36’s 42’s and a 48, Pitters was a good main dealer.
Shame Locomotion got cancelled, perhaps next year we’ll meet up at Dave’s and go ?

Regards
Richard

Hi Richard,
We are both fine thank you, cannot really say the same regarding Wolverhampton!
Yes it is a shame about everything being cancelled but next year should be ok for a meet up, Dave is a bit closer as well.
Thanks for the info on your motor,
Stay Safe,
Best Regards

The reinforcement shows up on that trailer neck doesn’t it?

Hi all, yes Franglais your right they were " cracking " trailer’s, a real pain if the tank was full and a bit heavy used to really drag on corners. :sunglasses:

robthedog:
Ian’s F12 still looking good 40 years on

Good morning “robthedog”, The old girl reminds me of Triggers broom, it was his original, had 3 heads and 6 handles.
If you ever talk to Ian, please give him my regards, cheers, Harvey

The tanks were terrible when two thirds loaded with apple juice and no baffles. ‘keep you foot on the brake when you come to a stop’ was good advice!!

Richard trust you and Angie and family are keeping safe, I never knew Ian Hall worked for you he did a stint with us at DIT in the early 80’s and all I can say is he was meticulas, he used to keep a log of his driving hours in a note book which was extremely accurate got stopped one day by the police for a check and they could not believe how well it ■■■■■■■ with the tacho. He also drove a taxi at weekends for A2B taxis in Totton and one day he had a job taking an elderly woman and her dog to the vets, anyway on the way home after the visit she apologised profusely to Ian about a terrible stench thinking her dog had passed wind but all the time it was Ian who had had a curry the night before and told us he had to contain his laughter till after she was dropped off, Mary Hopkin moment right there, Buzzer

I THINK Monty may still have a copy, I’m pretty sure he’d lend it to you, if you ask him nicely.

They had a depot in Redlands Lane Fareham and I think there were a few other depots around that area wickham shirrel Heath way
[/quote]
Were they into haulage as well, or is this Dennis wagon a different firm ?

Hi all, The red and blue Scania is one of Pat’s (RIP) looks like it could be parked in Novarra railway station. I worked for Tom Parker on the milk side in around 1978 start at for take a loaded rigid with milk to Gosport tip load empty’s back to Fareham the mate would have loaded the artic it was an AEC mandator single axle 30 ft box 2 delivery’s Midhurst then Furnhurst would alternate which one you did first so you could collect empty’'s. Tuesday afternoon always overtime go to Droxford to collect egg’s back to Fareham dairy. Lasted 6 month’s. Happy day’s. :sunglasses:

Me again just had a thought that Parkers Roadtrain was based at charity farm in Fareham where TJ tippers are know based. The guy that drove it had black curly hair and i think his name was Roger. He had a tipping trailer for grain as well. funny what you remember when the old memory get’s jogged.
