Hi Tony.My poor old memory has gone.I seem to remember Winky jumping off the trailer and punching someone.I think that it was someone he was working for.Hes had a few jobs(Like me!) so I cant remember who it was. Also when you had the Bingo Hall, was it in Creek Road? If so I was living about a hundred yards away in Southwood Rd at the time. Regards Charlie

Hi Charlie, even though i cant read Mappos PM ive got a pretty good idea of its contents. Just to clear up this matter about Winky i was the one he attacked. He worked for me doing scac trailers and he had a reload of waste paper bales, it was not easy tryin to sheet this with old tilt covers but thats what we were expected to do. Any way Winky was dispatched with two of these old tilt covers to do the job but when he was tipping he discarded one, when he had loaded the shredded paper bales they would not let him out because he would have littered the whole county. Susequentley he had to drive the tractor unit back 70 miles to get the other sheet he had discarded and return to do the job properley,In subsequent phone calls with RH&D for whom i was contracted they made it clear to me that Winky was no longer to pull ther trailers. On his return to the yard i had to tell him his job with me was terminated at which he took umbridge, he did not hit me but stood by the drivers seet and kicked me , it hit me in the eye which floored me because i was not expecting it,anyway i had to go to hospital and thus ended the relationship between the both of us, In conclusion Winky was not always this firerey and previouse to this we had some good laughfs but hey ho thats the true account of the story just to get the matter straight, regards buzzer. PS i shud write a book really.

Hi John.Sorry about that.I didn`t realise that it was you.I was surprised that Winky was punchy,Anyway you are too old to be fighting. He must have caught you unawares. Regards Charlie
No need to apologise Charlie it was 30 years ago now mate, all in the past. I do remember havin to rescue Winky once when he jumped of a trailer and caught his wedding ring under a nail in the trailer bed, it ripped all the flesh of and in the end they amputated it, we went and collected him i think from Leicester, a good man would have driven home one handed. I think Winky wanted to but they would not let him
Hya Buzzer, i of course knew that tale, but did,nt think it right to say so on here.
As you said it was 30 years ago. ( bloody hell does,nt time fly )
Shame it happened cos Roy ( winky ) like you mentioned was a good laugh to be around
and a grafter.
I bet Jill and the Davies jnrs have never forgiven him.
While on the subject say hi to the bossfor me.

Your right there Tone thats one thing she will not forgive Winky for, but as soon as he done it he was back down the house and was actually crying cos he knew what he had done was wrong especially as i am definitely not an agressive person, anyway your right he did graft just a moment of madness.Another Mary Hopkin moment Mappo.By the way i think the boys were to young to understand that, and were probabley in bed.
