A very happy new year to all,
To get the grey matter going this new year who can give me the reason and spec on this outfit belonging to an OD in 2007.
Cheers. H
Not exactly sure why it has that configuration but that seems to be the norm in Turkey for most 8 leggers, and that includes just about every type including tippers, tankers and normal rigids for containers etc. I guess it is better for weight distribution and the Turkish ‘home grown’ brands like Ford and BMC are very big producers so probably be more widespread in Europe soon.

Sorry to hear your sad news, condolances to you and your family at this time.

Badger you mentioned Colin Glasspool well I bought an F88 from him, it was behind a shop in North Baddesley think it sold hardware and that would have been circa late 70’s XBF500M a 240 engine in her as was tutheren, the picture below is in France somewhere on our way to Italy. The names on the trucks were “The Incredible Hulk” which I bought from Meachers OTR37M & “Yanky Doodle Dandy” from Colin cant tell which is which here but Stan Mathews RIP was driving the other one along with me, cheers Buzzer.John
that the lorry I went in we tip An EAST trailer in Fos sur Mer then Colin reload Apples from Peyrolles for the Old Spitalfields, after He sold the F88 I remember he went to Partrans, He also work for us for 6 months driving my old DAF 2300 before we sold it. Colin & my Dada work at Conoco at Micheldever before they both set up on there own in 74ish.
I think Colin still lives in Baddesley but on the other side of the road & traffic lights, He was in a motorised wheelchair the last time I saw him.

Not so Buzzer.Ginger had long gone when the 141 arrived.Andy Harris had it new. Then after a few weeks he jacked and I got it.Then when I was taken ill on the ferry on the ferry on the Sunday night and was in hospital for a few weeks it was given to John Herbert. He was Misty Blue. He reckoned he could do Siicily in one hit. I well believe him. Now the saga re Ginger defecting to STS. This is the story. Horace had a meeting with Andy and myself and told us that Griffo was buying a lorry and wanted a driver. He told Horace he wanted one of us. Both Andy and me said no so John got the job.Best move he ever had made for him! Regards Charlie
Blow me Charlie you have worn a lot of different uniforms over the years had more jobs than Mappo I reckon, when did Tiger Tim appear on the scene at STS, Buzzer.
