Morning Balders.The. ambulance driver was a mean so and so. He refused to put his siren on and drive along the A339 like a lunatic. No fun there.Well gentlemen this is my final word on my hip saga.I,m sure that you are are all fed up with it. I,m now concentrating on my training for the Cadnam Half Marathon and the painting of Jimskis fence.I shall be in the Bakers Arms later and then a sprint up to the Legion. That will do for today. Regards Charlie

Hello ! Is there anyone out there? While I`ve been sitting here wracked with pain,Ive been pondering some questions.

1.If a deaf child signs swear words, does his mother wash his hands with soap?

2.If the police arrest a mute,do they tell him he has the right to remain silent?

3.Can an atheist get insurance against acts of God?

4.Why do shops have signs," Guide dogs only " The dogs can`t read and the owners are blind.

Regards Charlie

Drove one on Smith of Maddison…Nice looking truck, still one of my favorite old wagons, had a 205 ■■■■■■■■ air cleaner on the back of cab on the inside, by the passender seat, level with your left ear…
can you belive that…friggin racket… :unamused: short wheel base, a pig when solo, but with a '33 heavy boden trl M/T use to calm it down…pull like a train when fully frieghted though, better than the Big J’s that replaced it…

I think that you are “BHP crazy” Dave :open_mouth: are you sure that the engine in the Invincible was the 205 and not the 180  Although maybe it had one of the many phantom 8LXB’s that SOM supposedly had on the fleet, could possibly set another “hare running” here Dave  Did the SOM Invincibles have the 180 or the 205 engine ? Wey hey !! here we go here we go !! Groan,oh!no,not another Guy thread about the “scotch mist” Cheers Dennis.

Sorry no I do not know who owned them!

I do know that the transport manager was Ron Hatch!

Regards Pat

Hi Den…Hope you and Anne are well…

If memory serves the majority were 180’s, however, one or two were uprated to 205, how and why I’ve no idea. I do remember talking to the workshop foreman at Maddison who confirmed that it had been “tweeked” so to speak. Only proof I had was it use to fly and pull like a train… certainly better than the J’s I drove later…

AND, no Den, it didn’t have 2 extra pots hanging out the back, so dont start that old rumour again…or I’ll cancel your next load of Xmas Brie and vin rouge…

I believe Greenwoods were taken over by Baileys of Westbury part of the Heron Group to become Heron Freight!

Of course I presume Heron were the same group as Heron Homes which then built houses on the Rownhams site!
