I’m pretty certain that bridge is still there being used as the inward bound lane of the dual carriageway towards Southampton young lads still jump off it into the water!!
Also a view of it from outside the Anchor pub.

Hi anyone remember this SCAC subby Paul Maggs?
Regards Pat
Hi Pat, yeh I remember them, didn,t they have a Mack in similar colours
pulling for Scac ■■?
I,m pretty sure it was driven for a while by one Buzzers ex drivers, but before he
drove for Davies…Ian who I believe is in Canada now.
I to remember that ■■■■■■ when we had a meeting that if SCAC did not put up the mileage rates we would all go on strike and he sided with the management, namely the ice cream man as he was known. Some of us stopped working but it has to be total all out or it has no effect and he had good work with his other trucks on the bricks and did not really give a toss about the SCAC work needless to say the action all crumbled, that’s when I decided to go and get my own work and im’e darn glad I had that push, cheers Buzzer.
This picture was in Pompy docks the first time they expanded it in the early 80’s before this it was gravel yard at the top holding about 15 trailers and the key with a further 12 or so, now look at it.
Thursday club had a few visitors today Mappo, Paul Nichols and Pat Scorey many thanks to them all.
Another Aidie Lamb pic of a Meachers Seddon rigid

I drove BAA 993V for a while at Hill’s, went all over Europe in her, as usual I have a picture of it (somewhere) when It came back from a 3.5k refit, paint, upholstery new wheels the lot, looked the dogs, shame she struggled at 38tonne though, drank fuel like water!! Good old day’s trying to keep up with Smithy (R.I.P) who had an F12 intercooler…
For any one who wishes to attend John “Animal” Smiths funeral it will take place on Friday 7th February at 1pm at Porchester Crematorium.
Smithy expressed a wish that you come as you are, working clothes if you like. He did not want any one to make a fuss which is typical of him for those who knew him, there will be a get together following the service at the Crofton Working Mens Club, all are welcome. Posted on behalf of his Son and Daughter in law, Buzzer.
Copied from the Davies thread.

gazzer:
This was at the 2010 Summer bash. I think it was the last time he came.
Sad to see one of the old boys departed. I used to run into him now and again in the 70’s and 80’s…it would invariably end in a few beers and " interesting " situations…
I hadn’t seen him for years and he walked into a newsagents I owned in Fareham in about 2003…
( I used to own a paper shop, but it blew away… ). R.I.P. Smiffy.
