That I believe is French oak as they used to bring quite a bit of that in, I have loaded oak trunks in a tilt way back when cheers Buzzer.

Yeah I think you are right Buzzer, we used to load it out of France on flats many years ago, most of it used to go to coffin makers around the UK…

I think you could JUST get under Romsey bridge with a high container if you dropped the air on the unit and took it steady, handy for the trading estate opposite the Esso garage.

Same local bridge also hit by a local haulier

We’re sinking again ! So …dunno if this has been before sorry if it has

Got a feeling Pat could do with this what you think Jim ? Buzzer.

Hi all Pat rang me yesterday he’s doin well, but he said he gets a few bad moments being on his back so long but he said his physiotherapist is pleased with his progress, but like Pat said can’t run before you walk and it’s gonna take time.
It must be so frustrating wanting to get up and cracking on but can’t !!! Good luck Pat !!

Regards Jimmer.

I remember them wimvos F10s were they run on contract by LTS ?

Various F10’s & FL10’s were operated on the Voss contract & If liveried in Voss colours ,they were fully ADR’d ,
equipped with Jupiter pumps & Voss’s own hot water system which when required, could be connected via the trailer to the tank to ensure the contents kept it’s viscosity. It was not the best system in the world but better than having to drop the trailer on the Paramins steam facility at Fawley for 48 hours!

Remember EDSON it was run by a bloke called Nigel and his son I think ? what happened to them seemed to get quite big and then they were gone

You’re right the boss was Nigel, he used to be a contracts manager with Dawson rental and then in '97 or '98 bought into a local transport firm that was on shaky ground and got some good contracts with the likes of Hayes and Paul Davis. I worked for him as he offered me a job after i was made redundant from Stena Line Distribution when they closed down, stayed there for a couple of years and moved on (amicabally) to working on the tankers, more money and nearer home. Eight years later in 2008 I was looking to cut down on my hours as it was my last year before retirement and Nigel offered me a four day week job (still about 48+ hours) by then he was the sole owner of Edsons and had much larger premises at Testwood (Totton) and about 12-15 vehicles. The company was doing the overnight PalEx trunks, with smaller vehicles doing the daily deliveries and collections plus a fair amount of container deliveries and de-storing plus local company work. I found him an OK person to work for but he did have a bit of a driver turnover and about 18 months (I think) after I left he went into volintary liquidation, he now manages a large transport company in Poole. I am still in touch with him from time to time.

Nigel Edmunds, when I was Transport Manager for Shears at Wimborne he joined Pallex ,but I believe he was asked to leave the system.
