These were a regular sight in Southampton catching ferries and had quite a few Southampton drivers

Great photo Pat…I did a spell with Barbours, but not til they had the MAN,s.
Really good company to work for…the old man Duncan and his son Stuart, both smashing fellas.
All of the drivers were brilliant company, and I certainly had my fair share of alcohol in those days
to keep up with the other lads.

I know it isn’t trucks but this needs to be put out so this ■■■■■■■ gets caught, sorry guys…

Hello Pat, Duncan was an old friend of mine, (the French connection), ran a few TRs, and we had some real “craic” together, like so many sadly missed!! (Are we all now getting so old…I still feel 21, but give me a shovel…and I am my “real” age, geriatric)!!!

Nice pictures, thank you.

Cheerio for now.

Found this old pic anyone know if it was Steve Cook (Lowloader man from near Wimborne) father’s truck?

It does say Eversley on the cab!

If so he used to own my house at one time!!!

Regards Pat

Hi I had a call this morning from Steve Cook he says that the pic probably dates from around 1972/3 and was taken at Stourpaine they had just unloaded a steam engine.

He also said he would sort out some more pics!

Dunno where you keep finding these old photos Pat, but keep em coming mate.
As I,ve mentioned before way back on this thread, I used to regularly load out of their
yard at Dell Wharf when on for Smiths…Did,nt we Fergie.

I notice that tha A badge on the grill is a bit wonky. :unamused: :unamused:

Hi all I owned an F88 with the reg OTR 37M which I believe was ex Sibley as they had one truck on containers, the bloke that drove it must have been a dirty “B” as Colin Gray who was a mobile steam cleaner steamed the inside of the cab before I took delivery of it second hand from Meachers Commercials when they were next to Strides bike shop in Totton cheers Buzzer.

We did Mappo, for Scotland if memory serves. How are you Tone ? I pop in and have a look at least once a week to see whats going on, but this time of year we’re pretty busy, so haven’t posted recently, roll on the winter nights !!!

But while I’m here, here’s an old work horse still earning it’s keep in rural Brittany… especially photographed for Richard !! it’s a 6 x 4, (probably a straight 6) 250 hp, air cooled, turbo, with remote gear box, dunno the year …not sure if we had that model in the UK
