Ollie and I raised £112.84 for Naomi House children’s hospice with the help of freebies from Hampshire Grain and Scania Truck Rental, to prize dosh out of peoples pockets. We just sat there in the sun slurping the red wine!

Thanks to everyone who donated to this charity.

BFC was Bowden Freight wasn’t it?
Bought up lots of firms round the country including J & H at Nottingham hauling for Plasterboard out of East Leake & Gotham.

Salut, David.

PS Or was that BFI?

Yep - that was BFI “Bowden Freight International” - also had an Iveco dealership in Essex, and Bowden Container Services too. They went bust many years ago

Bust in Early nineties if memory serves me right, my old man pulled a tanker for them some times to far end of portugal and a return from Malaga , he stopped with us when down there.

Evening all, Harry, and his sons Peter, and Dennis, also had an Iveco (Fiat) . Dealership in Rushden. Also a large Insurance brokeridge. Must have been the largest UK user of Fiat 684s, and they had a fair number of 170.26s later on. Pretty high financial gearing to the group.

Cheerio for now.

Here is an ex Hills of Botley Iveco Unit sold to Geof Kilbey of New Milton

You can’t drive through here any more! But Slatey and Denny Belbin will park as close to the pub as possible!

Gazzer that looks like the Red Lion at Bitterne and if it is where the road used to fork right on to Bursledon Road just past the pub there was a pelican crossing and one day returning from Pollock and Brown in my trusty marina van with 20 sheets of new oiled tin on the ladder racks the bloke in frount decided to do an emergency stop. Banging on my brakes to avoid a collusion the tin carried on down across the bonnet and hit the road inches from the chaps car, and I can tell you I was mighty relieved that it missed, a very lucky escape indeed and just another MH moment cheers Buzzer.

Buzzer:
Well boys "R " is for Royal Oak at Fritham which is up a dead end road for those who know it, and I am still mystified by how many people find it, I had my dutch courage in there before getting hitched to the " Boss " lucky old her and now Richard seems to be quite a regular there which is strange as he lives over the border in Wellow,is that not in Wiltshire or do you just scrape in ? what else have you cheers Buzzer.

Hi Neil went to check out your sighting J7/J8 and could not get in our old yard as there is a pair of [zb] great gates at the entrance so could not go any further will try and check out later in the week, JD.

Was a chap called Taylor that owned the Royal Oak at one time, remember riding with the NF buckhounds from a meet there.
Here is a pic of some proper cattle for you Buzzer, none of those prancing brown deer in your pic

Well Puntabrava the landlord of the Royal Oak at Fritham was Bert Taylor way back when and his son Andrew took it on after him but alas it is not in the same family now but still remains very much the same as it always was except it is very popular now with walkers and cyclists and if my memory serves me right it was a Strong & Company of Romsey pub.Like your cattle they look good cheers Buzzer.
