Long delays warning

Avoid the Stonehenge area on June 20th and 21st.
There will be adults running around the stones wearing white bed sheets worshiping sun Gods for Summer Solstice.
A303 bottleneck.
Then further hold ups for Glastonbury Festival.
Any road going there and coming out when it ends will be FUBAR.
June 25th to June 30th.
The A303 can grind to a halt.
Then the A37 gets affected South of Bristol.
The whole world descends at Worthy Farm.
Castle Cary gets rammed as the buses ferry them to and from the train station to the site.
Worth going the long way round to avoid congestion.
Avoid Pilton.

surely thats what we need…sun gods…weve had just enough of all the rain…pray that it works, and you can sit in the delays getting a tan

Surely if we can’t take the ■■■■ out of gypsies then how can it be allowed to mock people who follow paganism?

i’ll be looking out for you toby. It sounds like it would be right up your street

The A371 (is it?) through Shepton Mallet has had the weight restriction suspended so if you’re heading cross country you can avoid Pilton altogether via Wells for the duration of the festival.

That is correct. But only use the 7.5 ton weight limit when they have covered up the signs.Bit narrow but ok.
Croscombe is narrow but passable. No room for two trucks at one time, nice and steady through there.

Weight limit signs are blacked out and temporary yellow diversionary signs marked for Hgv’s are in place showing route A39 / M5, or A361 / Frome.

Don’t forget that the A361 between Shepton and Glastonbury will be closed completely on Monday from 9am to 5pm (I think) for the mass exodus of the great unwashed!

Mind you, if I had any sort of choice, I’d just avoid the whole area till Tuesday!

Good luck!

Is this a racist post against festival goers ?

What about wide loads/convoi exeptionnel on the Sunday?

What, telling people how to avoid the area? It must be as bad for the residents nearby as those who put up with the Appleby and Stow fairs. What’s the great attraction with getting drugged up and drunk and live in a muddy field for 3 days? One reveller has already snuffed it from an overdose (according to the BBC).

Suedehead:
What about wide loads/convoi exeptionnel on the Sunday?

Would have thought you’d be ok as the festival doesn’t finish till Sunday night.

if your that wide or exeptional you would have put a movement order in and they would route you accordingly

The festival site is bigger than Bath.50,000 staff and workers from Police, security, catering, stalls and shops and so on.
170,000 tickets sold at £230 each.A nice little earner.
Stonehenge area this Monday will be chaos.Avoid like the plaque if going Eastbound.

There’s been a pedestrian killed as well just on the outskirts of Shepton.
Cancel the whole thing. :smiling_imp:

There was a fly by nite driver rung in on radio 2 this morning, warning rest of the tour drivers to get ready to be bogged down
