London

I am a Londoner as well, but I hate it. Every sod is in a rush to reach the next set of lights

For the first time in 6 months lifted a trailer in Holyhead that wasn’t for London, great I thought by the second drop wished I was in London at least there they want the goods the majority of places we go to in London tip you straight away especially the Halal butchers. Today 1st drop Langdons in Knowsley 40 minute wait, 2nd drop 1 hour and 20 minute wait IBL knowsley 4th drop 2 hours for two pallets at 3663 Salford 7th drop 2 and half hours at Morrisons in Wakefield, can get 8 or 9 drops off in London starting in Belvedere and finishing in Wembley in less time give me London any time

I hate London, I really do.

I just had to pay £130 in fines for the same offence twice in two weeks. It was for “Failing to comply with a no entry sign” this was on Old Bond Street in London.

:unamused: :unamused: Once you may get away with it but twice

Two fines in the space of two weeks. Happened on the 13th and 20th August. Only just got the ticket in the post! a bit unfair to be honest as it took a while to get to me. it was paid before I could have a look

Those people that can’t or refuse to drive into London should really consider whether their cut out for the job because let’s be honest it’s not exactly challenging if your any good at the job.

As they say if you can drive in london you can drive anywhere.

Parking tickets for us in london is a everyday thing, Your lucky if you do a whole week without one.
They know our timed deliveries on a daily basis and even wait round the corner for the time to strike 1 min past the hour say and slap us with a ticket.
Just have to laugh at them for being on time everyday.

We have got some ■■■■ drops in London, the problem is, in any other city you would get away with doing down a 7.5 or 18 road if you were lost, however in London, there are 1000’s of people doing “nothing” jobs that in any other city it wouldn’t happen, such as watching a box junction camera. It’s ■■■■, we all take a wrong turn, or get lost. Do it in London and it cost you £££

fodentanker:
Is London that much worse than say any other large city in the UK?

Has Manchester or Birmingham not got as many restrictions and cameras to catch you out?

Surely these big cities are much the same, or am I missing something.

By the way I love driving in London but I am a Londoner.

You know what I love driving around Manchester and Lancashire in general, very few restrictions in the areas we deliver, I find the standard of driving is 10x better and the people have a personality and say “hello” and don’t just grunt, snarl or plain ignore you.

Birmingham I haven’t really been to since I was at co-op, there are loads of ‘red routes’ like in London, but I don’t remember any specific hgv restricted areas or night time bans like there is in the ■■■■ hole that is London.

I wouldn’t live there if I was paid to!

Just like to point out I am not refusing to drive in London I am just stating I hate the bloody area

You know if you pay with in 14 days of getting ticket you get it for half price.

If you have to pay fines yourself, it’s very unfair that the company paid it
without giving you the chance to defend it.

I’ve got a rule with my company…it’s my fine so don’t pay it for me.
Successfully defended the vast majority.

Born Idle:
I deliver to shops etc and am frequently in central London. It is what it is…busy, slow, infuriating at times but I just get on with it. I have several times been on the cusp of making a turn only to spot the “no left/right” turn at the last minute. Bang the hazards on, reverse back onto the carriageway…if people don’t like well…tough!

fair play to you,i wont touch london again unless i really have to,2008 was the last time i was there
