A delivery on Saturdays to Ocado at Erith and then onto Sainsbury’s Thamesmead (or Charlton as it used to be known).
If I enter the lorry control zone at say 12.30 on a Saturday and then leave my delivery point which is inside the zone at 13.30, can I then legitimately go on towards Thamesmead on the A2016 and then the A206 past the Woolwich Ferry and deliver there without being in breach of the 13.00 lorry curfew? The way I see it, I’m already inside the zone before the 13.00 deadline therefore, I can travel out any way I choose right?
The alternative is to go back to the M25 and into Sainsbury’s via the A2 Blackwall tunnel approach.
We use to do,sainsburys Charlton then Dartford, had to come out of Charlton back to 102, then down to M25, we’re told don’t go thamesmead, there’s a lorry ban near the old traywash, and another not far from Charlotte and naer ferry.
just cause your in the zone already means nothing.
if the outer zone is nearer to your 1st delivery than your 2nd delivery then you have to go back out and in again at the closest point to your 2nd delivery.

Rang them up…
As karl67 say’s above, regardless of being inside the zone legitimately after 13.00 you have to go out via the shortest route. Which kinda makes a mockery of trying to be green and save dolphins when the journey time is doubled.
Oh well, I’ll have to earn extra money at time and a half for driving round the houses when I could be at the next drop in 15 to 20 minutes.

Ah, that’s where you’re wrong. The London Lorry Scheme has sweet f all to do with the environment, and all, and only, with the good burghers of London not having to put up with those nasty lorries.
Wait until They get their way, and their Quinoa and organic soya milk are going to be delivered by pedal powered rickshaws…
