London LEZ

hi all
Hypothetically if i was to take the plates from a lez compliant truck and put them on a non compliant truck what would be the chance of getting away with it for 1 day ■■
both trucks belong to the same company
there would be no work done with the truck it is just to have work done on it.

here goes

I think your chances of getting away with it would be excellent. I’m sure they only use automatic number plate recognition to check a database to see if you are compliant or not. Of course you will understand the trouble you’d be in if stopped by anyone for anything and found out.

how old is the truck

Vehicles first registered as new with the DVLA on or after 1 October 2001 are assumed to be Euro III, so will meet the LEZ emissions standards.

A pal of mine was using trade plates for a while to get in and outta the zone without paying up, worked fine for him…although im not suggesting you do anything like that
Bear in mind if you do get caught they give you a warning the first time to get the truck up to spec from then on its £500 per day unless you pay in advance its £200 per day
