Anybody been to london for the weekend and can recommend a fairly cheap over night stay in a hotel? doesnt have to be right in the city centre but pref within walking distance to a tube station and if pref able to leave luggage there for the day

The Ibis by Canary Wharf. Tidy little hotel, free car parking, short walk to one of Londons most impressive tube stations, or if your feeling adventurous you can get the boat down the river into town, your travel card is valid on it, it’s just a regular shuttle service ferry. Very enjoyable. The Ibis is cheaper at weekends too.
in my experience the prices vary drastically, but you wont get CHEAP cheap unless your out by the m25, premier inn and travelodge are usually cheap, if you dont care about facillities etc theres a few b&b style hotels in kings cross, we usually pay around £50 for a double room, laterooms.com and travelstay websites are usually very good, as for luggage victoria coach station have a left luggage facility which i think was about 7 quid for up to 24 hours storage, most big stations do that
