“Terrorists should ‘not necessarily’ serve full jail term, says Jeremy Corbyn”
Quite right too, a 762 or even an old stock .303 saves the bother.
Fortunately those involved with letting scum like that out early are the ones most unlikely to become one of their victims, so far.
Lets hope that the lawyers who fought his appeal are now regretting their actions after two innocent people have been murdered by their client, but somehow I doubt it as they long as they got paid then they couldn’t care what crimes their client then goes on to commit
Whatever they did to get him released early is only what the current U.K. law allowed them to do. Under U.K. law the guy still had rights which is the right to the the fair appeal and all that. Yes some of it’s called the European convention of human rights, which despite what you may think and brexit being the answer to, the British were heavily involved in writing those laws. It’s the legislation around terror offences that needs totally changing.

I’m not disputing that the law is a bollox but the solicitor didn’t have to take the job when it was quite obvious the person was still a danger, although if they hadn’t I’m sure Cherie Blair would have jumped at the chance.
The type of prison term Khan ultimately received was an extended sentence for public protection (EPP). These were introduced in April 2005, by Labour, in the Criminal Justice Act 2003, alongside the IPP sentences.
Initially, both required that a parole board assessment be made before a prisoner could be released. But the prison population soared, partly because parole boards were not impressed by rehabilitation efforts in jail.
Labour changed the law in 2008 to ease the pressure and for extended sentences only the requirement for parole board oversight was removed. Prisoners like Khan – who were not subject to any other conditions – became automatically eligible for release halfway through their jail terms.
The rules for terrorism sentencing were changed by the Conservatives in 2015 as Islamic State became more active. All terrorism offenders sentenced since then have to apply for parole.

…unfortunately, the lawyers behind this legal push to get a convicted terrorist “out early due to some loophole” - were well paid, and like other members of their profession - “are not sworn to do no harm” unlike Doctors…
If members of the legal profession get paid well, don’t end up in jail - and people get killed - THEY are the ultimate ones who “don’t give a ■■■■”.
Now take a look at which side of the argument “happen to have the most laywers by far”…
surely govt forces could give them a little injection whereby they become a harmless village idiot for the next ten years. Or drop something in their final few meals in prison so they go downhill within a few weeks.

It’s not very widely known, but they’ve already experimented with that programme a couple of years ago.
On completion of the process, they then put them through their Class 1s, just look out for them on the Mway, they’re quite common, you see em everyday somewhere. (not sure if they’re actually ‘‘harmless’’ though. )
GOG47:
Help me out here, gadgie who stabbed people was convicted of terrorism in 2012 and given aa indeterminate sentence later reduced to 16 years by appeal court who stated he should serve at least half in jail. Now I’m no rocket scientist but half of 16 is 8, so add that to 2012 makes 2020, wtf was he released in 2018! Hands up if you think the British justice system is run by a bunch of absolute f- wits. Ffs, you’d do more time for fiddling your taxes (or your tachos)[emoji849]

FFS The Criminal Justice System - acts like it is being run by Ms Abbot already.
“Me and my Shadow” sure never met the possible future Home Secretary who does bugger all to support Police trying to do their job in her own constituency…
