Close. We want a product with full technical support in case anything goes wrong, and we want RBI to pay for it.

Exactly montana man.
I came up with this for a new logo if you wanna use it
You blew it BM, the N in TruckNet needs to be a capital letter.
Good job otherwise.

oh bugger i’d spent hours on that one and just finished this one
see how I merge the e into the t
I think I prefer the Trucknet logo as it is
You should send them into Truck & Driver BM, they might print them on the Junior Trucker pages.

I must admit I had a little help from my junior trucker with the first one
If it ain’t broke, don’t mend it…and it ain’t.

so we are starting to look at moving the forums from the open source software which has many inherent dangers to a new forum software package,
Which has just as many “inherent dangers” but you can’t see them or fix them without help from the company who created the software.
I don’t like it when open source software is described as dangerous to use or inherently unsafe. Windows is not open source, yet 99.999999 % of viruses are designed to attack it, or software that runs on it.
I’m not getting at you Rikki, but in the interests of fairness, when someone googles for dangerous software, and this page comes up, I’d like there to be some balance.
phpBB has it’s faults, but that is mainly due to PHP itself, and the incorrect configuration of PHP on the server (register globals etc etc). I do know a little about this …
As for the logo, that’s surely going to be up to the “owners”, and their choice of branding. Like many others have noted, we don’t actually look at it.
Personally, I hate it when small companies get big and feel the need to wipe out their past and all the history with it. I say we keep the logo.
I’d leave the logo as it is. I’ve always liked the ‘UK’ bit set on the Union Flag.
I also find the site colours very easy on the eye and I’d hate to see anything change.
Another Forum I use has gone all posh and I dont like it at all. I prefer the old Anaglypta
Why don’t you put a poll up to see who wants to change and who wants to keep the logo, you would probably get more response from those that don’t actually want to post.
By the way, I say keep the old logo, I don’t want to buy new shirts either

As for the DB, I can understand the need for the changes ‘behind the scenes’ however, I find the current colour scheme to be the easiest on the eye, especially after a few hours in front of the monitor. There are a couple of other sites out there with some strange background colour schemes (black, brown,!!■■!!) that my eyes can’t really handle after the first 20 minutes!!!You can’t beat green text on a black background!
i have red text on a black background
i dont bother with the logo either Rikki. its the content that i use the site for, not the logo
Keep the logo as it is, it says who we are and who run it

I like the current logo and feel that it clearly identifies Trucknet. Lets not do a ‘BT’ and go through so many logo changes (or even one) that I couldn’t now honestly tell you what theirs is!! Quite poor for such a prominent company. As for the DB, I can understand the need for the changes ‘behind the scenes’ however, I find the current colour scheme to be the easiest on the eye, especially after a few hours in front of the monitor. Keep it as it is please.
