Has anyone else lost their coffee on the supposed road repair at Lofthouse?
Absolutely ridiculous that Highways Agency can leave a road in a worst state than before they ‘repaired’ it. There’s a 6"+ jump in the road! But it’s ok because Highways have put a warning sign about it. Even at 5mph you go flying, you can see that others have been a little unfortunate due to all the scars in the tarmac from taking off.
The original repair they did in the road ‘sank’. So to rectify the sinking they thought they would just add a ton more tarmac, now giving the roundabout a massive speed bump! If you have room you can straddle the lanes to avoid it. I was behind a Fiesta the other day who didn’t notice it and his back end took off as he was going so fast over it!
Does anyone expect anything better from the incompetent fools aka The Highways Agency?
It seems that nothing is inspected when any highways work is supposedly completed , it’s just handed over .
I put in an official complaint over the dangerous state that the southern part of the M25 was left in after the upgrade a few years ago .
Tramlines , uneven surface and at night on wet roads you couldn’t distinguish between old and new road markings .
Incredibly the upgrade and the resurfacing and new markings were separate contracts .
At least the contact that I met and exchanged Emails with was honest , efficient and a very attractive lady .
Last time i drive by the sign had gone on one of them and the other never had one. Absolutely insane bit of road fixing but assumed it was a temp fix.
Its not the only bit that’s got a major bump. Noticed several on the A14 yesterday where they’d patched the road and theres that one by Tibshelf services on M1.
