He died on the 20th May 2012, still much doubt about his conviction.

He has died. Nearly 2 yes ago I think.

He died last year. If it was him theres no way he acted alone. Maybe get the truth 1 day.
I didn’t realise he’d died. I appreciate he didn’t act alone. I understand there was some question about his conviction. But why allow anyone out of prison to die who’s killed people?
Drove passed there in a truck the night after it happened.The devastation was horrendous and I only passed on the road.
Absolutely tragic.
I was a month old when this happened so don’t remember the actual event.
But every time I drive by the signs for Lockerbie on the M6 I get chills down my spine from what I’ve seen and read about what happened.

Still a great deal of doubt about Megrahi’s conviction. From reading about the case in any number of issues of Private Eye it’s beginning to look like it could be another “Birmingham Six” type case.
The Scotch let him out because his conviction, which was dodgy at first, became ever more doubtful as more evidence emerged. His illness gave them an excuse to get rid of him and in effect close the case.
Yes. The truth will out.

My late brother in law was in a pub about 25 miles away and the place shook when the plane hit the ground also when the first news footage was shown a van just like my brothers was sitting burnt out in the middle of the motorway. It was worrying as he was due to have been in that area at the time it was a worry till we were able to get hold of him as he was turned back, this was in the days before mobile phones were in common use
I too feel the Megrahi was a scapegoat doubt if the truth will ever come out though to many vested interests now
I remember driving past two days after this had happened, the fields on the other side of what was the old A74 were strewn with wreak ah and there were dozens of soldiers picking up the pieces.
I remember thinking at the time that with the miles of open country in that area it lands on the only town.

The truth won’t ever be allowed to be told because the whole thing was a conspiracy tied to retaliation for the Americans shooting down the Iranian flight 655 by mistake.The logical result of which was either a whitewash or war with Iran which America didn’t want.

The difference is that the shooting down of flight 655 was a mistake whereas Lockerbie was deliberate retaliation.Just like the case of Korean Air flight 007 everything that followed was a whitewash to avoid the logical conclusion which would have been large scale war in all cases.It would have been better for the governments concerned to just tell the truth.

Please don’t make the mistake of thinking I’m justifying what happened in either case. Innocent people have died and continue to die whilst nutters in America/UK/Russia/China/Syria etc, etc continue to play King of the Castle.
Shame they blamed an innocent man and the real ■■■■■■■■ got away with it.
But thats what happens when you believe a government.
