I liked the old park in the town centre best until the bastds built a Tesco on it. :smiling_imp:

Truckstop is too far out of town for me, so if it goes I won’t really miss it, food aint that brilliant anyway, more adequate I would reckonn.

Makes sense if Currie European have got plans for it they were looking for a base closer to the motorway according to this article earlier this year, (wasting too much driving hours etc and fuel running to there existing yard)… hy have probably bought the truckstop and some surrounding land if they plan to build a base.

Only truckstop you can get a hot meal and a shower 24/7
Shame if it stops this as the showers are one,if not the best ones in the uk.
And IMO the food is too.

Yup…had a few good nights in the town centre pubs. Too far to walk back now!

Can’t see them closing it and anyone who visits it knows the north side of the trailer park has effectively been a Curries trailer park for ages now. Currently they’ve been paying for that parking so it makes sense for them to buy it. Given the investment in the site I expect it turns a reasonable profit on its own merits so its not really a hard business decision as they not only save on the fees they were paying but get to make a few extra quid as well.

Wouldn’t know. Not allowed to park there because it’s off route. Anyway even if i could i couldn’t afford it after my mortgage payments.
