Lockerbie Truck Stop last night 25.06.14

My mate had his curtains cut last night along with every other curtainsider, the police were there this morning taking statements and issuing incident numbers. They even have a security guard on duty so it just shows that no where is safe, it’s a pity really as it is one of the better truckstops (IMHO)

We changed there every night and very rare do you ever see a guard the barriers have not worked for about 3/4 year so its come and go as you like

I think it’s one of the worse ones tbh you have the freight line at the back working all night, trailer swaps going on all night, and fridges parking where they ■■■■ well please!!

I like lockerbie but i really dont think anywhere is safe these days regardless if theres guards or not unfortunately i think its just the way it is

Have stopped there when doing nights up to Airdrie.

Seemed decent, but it was very quiet on the occasions I was there. I just took a 45 though and didn’t hang around long. Must admit, first time in, I expected more in the way of security. It was just drive in and out, no one asked any questions and, if I’d been dishonest, I’d have had a field day!

Seems they don’t care anywhere these days!

Yup, I was there. Had a brand new trailer on :frowning: . Went to sleep around 9, up at 4, never heard a thing. The police man said they did Gretna services too. There was a police woman grilling the “security” guard, not sure how long he will be in a job for.
Had 3 ton paper reels on, they didn’t take them.

Sad to hear its happened :open_mouth: its only going to happen more n more :unamused: :unamused:

Trouble is when i was on curtainsider work i found they slashed your trls more when you were empty even with back doors left open and alike :unamused:

Every curtain sider you see on the road has a scouse scar some have several, shows how common it is.

Think you’ll find the scousers that have been done for robbing lorries, usually took the truck off you and tied you up. Never heard of any done for slashing curtains.
And besides, this has happened in Scotland. Nothing to do with scousers, everything to do with Scots advertising a secure parking and not providing it. All talk and no trousers, well what d’ya expect, they all wear kilts !!!

I drive a 4 wheel rigid curtainsider. It’s just over 3 years old and the curtains have never been touched. Never park in truckstops as it is drivers who ■■■■■ your curtains. Usually park on industrial estates or customers premises.

While the scrotes who commit this type of crime usually have a commercial vehicle of some sort (typically an old shed of a 7.5 tonner or an old van) to carry off the goods, I wouldn’t say they were “drivers”.

It’s other drivers, drivers of other trucks parked up for the night same as you. One of the drivers I worked with caught a thief red-handed, actually in the back of his trailer, he drove an artic for a well-known firm from Potto and he got a good beating for his troubles.

Excellent result. Sometimes a bit of rough justice is all these scrotes will learn from

Splendid, make em pay, Likesay it’s usually other drivers.

Lads, open the back doors every time. I don’t give a chuff what’s on the back, don’t give them a reason to ■■■■■ your lovely new curtains, makes me weep.
