I do very little RDC work but when i do all i hear from the backs of various wagons is “■■■■■■ STRAPS” then various forms of the guys unloading asking why drivers bother using them.
Do they not realise that we have to use them by law? I understand that its bound to be annoying when it happens all day. but even so…
I always do my best to take the straps off but sometimes one gets missed. after all. why make things harder for people?

at kelloggs west park
in BRS days especially with the ’ K ’ de mountable boxes
the warehouse lads used to Stanley knife the off for you!
from the roof,
still attached to the load and the [zb] bed out through the curtains!

in the days before GKN did one way pallets, when returning back to the RDC with a box van trailer and the pallets where stacked at the doors it was always custom for us drivers to slam the brakes on to make sure the loaders where repaid for the crap way they use to load us
Quite a few of our trailers have internal straps which have been cut by RDC loaders, or mangled by forkies running them over. Unless you undo all the straps and stow them well out of the way (ideally tied back with the doors) your just asking for trouble as they don’t give a ■■■■.
